WWE Thread III

Are they really that stupid? Lol. And Emma is talented enough to be on RAW for what it's worth. Zero problem with that one.

Also, just realized the crowd chanted "You still suck" at Reigns after he did his big leap. Dude is beyond doomed.

1. I doubt that they didn't expect that reaction. I think this is just more BS from Meltzer.

2. I disagree that Reigns is doomed. I still think that either at WM or the Raw after (I thought about it, and I think I would rather them do it the next night), they will turn him heel and hopefully start being booked better. I did like what I saw from Reigns and Trips last night. HHH did a good promo at the top of the 2nd hour.

Everything you read talks about Vince loves Eva and was basically her only supporter when she came back. She is booed heavily in everything she does on NXT yet they kept sending her out there. I bet the only official that mattered expected a different reaction.

They can make a story out of this though.

And please, I'm ok with Trips holding onto the belt if it means Shane beats Taker. Please give me a new authority ruling Raw.

While I still don't understand the how or why we have been given a Undertaker vs. Shane match at WrestleMania, it sorta does make sense for this to be Undertaker's last match and for him to go out on his back. Above all else, Undertaker has always been a company man. He never left for WCW, has reportedly always been a voice of reason and well respected in the locker room, and for as much time as he's spent in WWE, he's spent a relatively small amount of time being a title holder. From that perspective, who besides one of the company owners should get the honor of beating him in his last match? And who would he prefer to lose to than than a representative of the family that has employed him for all these years?

I think I can say with a lot of certainty that there's no chance in hell that Trips retains.

I agree. Which tells me Shane loses. Taker walks out of Mania a winner.

This has set up a weird situation where, if Shane/Taker isn't on last, then HHH will be coming out for his title defense already knowing if he's out of a job as authority or not.

another reason to think Shane walks out a loser.

And reason to think they don't turn Reigns heel. We just fed more of the Authority crapping on Reigns.

Would be epic though to somehow do the heel turn and create an Ambrose/Reigns feud after Ambrose beats Lesnar.

I'll say this. If Ambrose defeats Lesnar, then the odds of Reigns turning heel increases quite a bit, IMO.

This line of thinking plus Taker, one of the biggest baby faces in the company, saying Wrestlemania won't be his last, cemented the outcome for me. A cardinal rule (Bret Hart rule) is top tier babyfaces don't make absolutes like that and it be false.

Your point is one I'm sure WWE brass is smart enough to foresee. You never know, though, maybe HHH comes out and the commentary is already building (he has nothing to lose, he's no longer a suit, so any allegiance and rules to this company are gone!).

No way Taker loses UNLESS they set up Cena/Taker for WM 33.

Trips promo was awful imo. But regardless. I mostly meant he's doomed as a baby face. Heel turn can for sure save him.

We'll agree to disagree on Trips. I thought it was a good old school heel promo.

As for Reigns, I agree as a babyface. I believe that this match, the outcome following the match, and the next night on Raw is going to tell us a lot about the future of Roman Reigns. If he wins the title and nothing changes with him, then he is going to fail, and Vince will have destroyed this man's career.

I've seen this idea being floated around, and I would like to hear what people's thoughts are on this. After Reigns wins the title, the Rock comes down to the ring to raise Roman's hand. When he tries to do so, Reigns turns on the Rock and obliterates him completing his heel turn.

Perhaps I've missed it, but has anybody seen the Rock in any WM promotional material, aside from that one video, "finally...the Rock has come back...to Wrestlemania"? I haven't seen anything about how he might be used during the event. I could definitely see him being involved as a catalyst for someone else's program, like you mentioned for Reigns.

This, plus Takers line a few weeks ago about Shane's blood will be on Vince's hands, are starting to make me think that Taker beats Shane up so bad that Vince turns semi-face and gives RAW to Shane anyway. Maybe I'm just hopeful we're finally getting an end to the Authority though.

If Trips hadn't made that same promo approximately 2,538 times in his career, I might have liked it more.

Also, I'm still really tired of the scripting for KO. He's taking baby coward to a whole other level that just doesn't suit him at all. Brawlers brawl. His freaking motto is Fight Owens Fight. Let the guy freaking fight.

I'm excited for Friday nite but I'd be ten times more excited if it was Zayn/Balor instead of Joe/Balor again

When I first started watching Baron Corbin, he was a random tall dude with a decent look that didn't have much to offer. Now he's the second best heel in NXT and someone I think can be NXT champ in a few months. That's exactly what NXT is made for.

OH MY GOD IT'S THE SIX FOOT TEN LONE WOLF OF NXT BARON CORBIN

(read it in Michael Cole's voice)

I think Corbin gets "go away" heat rather than heat from being a good heel. But heat is heat I suppose. I'm rather indifferent to him. I think he's bland. But he is getting better in the ring. Need to hear more promo work from him.

With so few matches on the main show card, Reigns and HHH better go at least 30 mins. It's a title match main event at Wrestlemania, and Ambrose/HHH went 25 mins last month. If Reigns can go through a 30 min. war and not need significant rest spots, that will go a long way with me accepting him as the babyface champion.

I don't think it will last 30+ minutes. I'm thinking it will be around 22 minutes. Besides, HHH's entrance will likely take up an hour, lol.
