WWE Thread III

I think it was last month when they announced the change. I might be wrong though. I'm happy they did it as well. Having Payback after WM makes a lot of sense.

Yea because most story's end at mania so there is just random hate built in 3 weeks

Mick Foley's ESPN interview was pretty good. I still wonder how ESPN is going to cover Wrestlemania

I think it was last year, they had SportsCenter live outside of the stadium at Mania. Could have been SummerSlam or something, im not exactly sure.

Kevin Von Erich is still alive too. I thought for sure he'd be the one to induct them.

Would make way more sense.

I just find it awkward because the Freebirds weren't the most PC, rather racist characters in WWF history. Some say Hayes is actually racist. So, yeah, New Day inducting them. Well that's just grand.

Also, I can only picture New Day doing it in character which would not fit with the reverent feel of the Hall of Fame ceremony

I'm greatly enjoying Lucha Underground tonight.

It's a spotfest...but i was super into ROH for several years so I guess that's why.

I watched too. The way the sold The Monster Matanza Cueto is exactly how you need to push the Wyatts. If any of the Wyatts could do a standing sunset flip immediately followed by a perfect German Suplex and a pump up sidewalk slam of course.

(Hint. nobody in WWE that I can think of can do all of those things. Especially not at the size Matanza Cueto is)

No joke, while watching Matanza last night I was thinking he just did Suplex city better than Brock. Mostly cause he did more than just German suplexes

I've thought about it, and decided I don't want a brand split unless Smackdown goes live and RAW goes back to two hours. Make the shoes even. If not, dont really want it. I prefer one world title to two even though it means a lot of deserving guys may never become a world title. I know the US title has fallen in a rutt as of late but for a while it and the IC title regained a lot of prestige. Just book the mid card titles better and I'm okay with the current setup.

I was talking with a friend toady about the shane vs taker match and we came up with a pretttty cool storyline that could follow if shane wins at mania.

The night after mania shane begins running raw. After about 4 months of things running smoothly things start to go wrong. After a few weeks there are some mysterious people that show up at the end of the show they cut a promo saying we are coming. The next week it is a month before summerslam triple h is in the ring saying it is his nxt superstars that have been destroying the show. Over the next month nxt continues destroying everything until vince comes out and says at summerslam all of this will be settled. Trips agrees but adds the stipulation that vince retires and trips gains all control if his side wins. Then at summerslam you have matches between the current roster and nxt superstars. Each team gets a point per win and the team with the most points wins at the end of the night. Nxt ends up winning and the next night on raw vince retires(on screen at least) Trips fires kevin dunn (on screen at least) He then brings reagl up as the gm of raw.

In your scenario, Shane plays no role after winning at Mania. Kind of odd, IMO. Why are HHH and Vince fighting each other and the owner of Raw isn't involved?

Shane was involved in this scenario. But he starts failing as GM, so Trips sets up another DX style invasion. But maybe I read it all wrong.

No biggie, I'm not trying to rain all over someone's creative process. :) I just thought it was odd that the scenario literally didn't mention Shane again after him winning at Mania.

The opening piece is key. Shane runs things smoothly for four months, then things start to go wrong. Am I misreading that?

KO tried to chicken out and leave twice in a tag match on Smackdown. There's no way he should be booked as the cowardly heel.

Agree. I don't know why most heels in WWE have to be cowardly. It works for some. But KO? Lol no. KO is the heel that beats the **** outta someone and laughs about it and brags about it.

The problem is that there are hardly any rules anymore, so heels have to act cowardly because it's the only way to get booed.

I agree. It works for Rollins, but it doesn't for KO.

It worked for Rollins and then it got stale after so long. Then to just hand the same routine over to KO who can only make one promo out of it made it miserable from the start.

No you read that right... maybe i should have been clearer. With shane in charge he kind of gives everybody free reign on what happens and things start spiraling out of control about the time the build to summerslam begins.

Sorry i should have been clearer on that part. The idea is trips is mad he lost power so he uses his baby "nxt" as a way to try and regain control. Vince comes in to play because it has been reported in the past that he isnt a fan of nxt so he sides with shane trying to squash nxt.

Hey give me more of this WWE please

I may end up wrong, but I don't think that Shane is going to beat Taker. The main reason is that I can't see Taker losing another WM match.

We're in an era where good wrestlers are going to get cheered regardless of being heel or face. I think heels and faces need to just be an after thought to some degree. And just let characters be entertaining.
