Neither of those are main eventers imo. They are very fun to watch mad cards. Anything else is pushing it.

I think Barrett still has potential. I agree about Cesaro though. He'll always have a job, but he'll be kind of a Dustin Rhodes type.

I love Bad News Barrett. Probably my favorite character. When he comes back though he should feud to get his IC Belt. He and Ziggler could be a GREAT feud. Maybe on down the line he could be a main eventer

wasn't the decade-long rivalry "ended" a few years ago with the I quit match where Orton introduced the cuffs?

Cesaro is a top flight worker. Just find his niche and he'll be a main event type soon enough/

Want to make the IC belt matter again? Give him and Ziggler 15 minutes at Wrestlemania.

That would be fantastic.

So apparently Stephanie is getting some grief for breaking kayfabe in an interview today........in 2014.

He doesn't have the mic skills or the charisma. Just fun to watch in the ring and he makes the other guy look that much better. Give him some great work as a mid carder, and everyone benefits. There's no niche for him as a main eventer in my book.

I wish they'd kept Barret around to announce or keep his shtick going as far as delivering bad news was concerned. I know he got legit hurt and all, but he could still pull off a few lines a night to keep him remembered.

Referring to this article?

Kayfabe never stood a chance with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon's daughters, and it's not doing so hot for the rest of us, either

Kayfabe never stood a chance with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon's daughters, and it's not doing so hot for the rest of us, either

Yahoo Sports blog The Turnstile recently offered a Q & A with WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon-Levesque, who also plays "Principal Owner" Stephanie McMahon on WWE television.

It contains some good info, and also reminds us that nobody shatters kayfabe these days like the Billion Dollar Princess.

She does it first in offering a nice story about how she handled her recent SummerSlam match with Brie Bella and her relationship with her young daughters:
I brought my daughters actually to Staples Center to watch me live in the ring - to watch their mother compete in the ring. It was a very proud moment for me. I worked incredibly hard for it and I wanted them to be a part of that experience. They supported me in my training all along and it took a lot of extra time for me to really get into shape to be able to compete in the ring.

I did explain to my daughters, but I've been explaining all along because as you know, I'm married to Triple H, who in my opinion is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. And in order to watch their dad compete against the likes of Brock Lesnar or The Undertaker, I would always explain to them exactly what was happening in the ring, how we make things look like they hurt when they don't, and the story that we're telling. They're involved and aware of what's going to happen, but at the same time just like our fans who know the difference between storytelling and reality, they still allow themselves to get swept up in the story and have an awesome time. When I came back from the ring and I walked backstage, I ran into my children and my mother, who were all clapping and chanting, "You still got it." It was something I will never forget.

Taking it a step further, she talked about contrasting her on-screen character with her real life persona:

I just like to have fun. Being able to play the bad guy as my character is on TV as a member of The Authority and being probably one of the ultimate villains on the show. I love to play the bad guy. It's just so much fun. And yes, it is a dramatic contrast to who I am in real life, but I like to have a lot of fun in real life too. Maybe it's my alter ego coming out, I'm not sure, but I certainly do like to embrace the dark side on camera.

It's one of the pitfalls of having a high-ranking executive and heir of the company also play a prominent on-screen character. McMahon has to change hats, and suspension of disbelief is going to be a casualty of that. It's a problem that's really unique to pro wrestling, but it's also a definite sign of the times when a main antagonist from the worked product openly talks in public about it all being an act.

Her husband manages to straddle the line between performance and real world a lot better, but his role with the company is a lot different. As a brand ambassador, McMahon can't afford to hide behind cryptic answers that hint at storyline implications. And unlike her father, Stephanie can't stick to the investor community that has minimal overlap with the televised stories - projects like Be a S.T.A.R. and the Susan G. Kommen partnership need to be promoted both in kayfabe and the real world.

She does an admirable job in both of her roles. But it's interesting to see how much things have changed, for her kids and probably a lot of younger fans of wrestling as compared to when Stephanie and folks her age or older were first consuming a product that went to great lengthes to constantly stay in character for the public.

Then folks will really hate this one!

For the longest time in the WWE, Vince McMahon and his writers have tried their hardest to make sure that wrestlers stick to script both in and out of their professional careers. This practice is known in the business as “kayfabe,” However, whenever any of the wrestlers express themselves outside of their characters, it is such a big deal, since most of the WWE Universe never really get to see the man or woman behind the character.

The Inquisitr however reported on times when certain WWE superstars stepped out of character, which mostly happens on Total Divas. One such example is Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella’s finanical problems in which Daniel had to put Brie on financial probation. However, if money does become tight, Brie can always strip right?

Nevertheless, one pair in the WWE nobody would expect to see break character is Rusev and Lana. Utilizing the “United States vs. Russia” angle to build up their characters, it is apparent that both of them are quite over. Yet if the WWE Universe saw these two – probably the most over heels in the WWE right now – outside of character, how would the fans react? Luckily for all of them and for you, we have found social pictures that may show how they are out of the ring. The thing that may blow fan’s American minds is how American both of them are as well!

According to articles by SE Scoops and 24Wrestling, Rusev (Real Name: Miroslav Barnyashev) and Lana (Real Name: Catherine Joy “C.J.” Perry) are dating in real life. Believe it or not, both of them have been together since their time in NXT, which I mostly remember as a time when Rusev had shorter hair and smiled. Back on subject, one thing that the WWE Universe may not know is that Lana is actually American. She’s a Floridian and graduated from Florida State. As a matter of fact, she is one of the “Florida State Cowgirls,” which she parlayed into a modeling career.

With so much participation in American culture, Lana is the perfect host to break in some classic American living with Rusev and not just because they are dating. Just check out some of the pictures of the couple from Rant Sports below and see for yourself! Just so you know, they love sports!

Funny, in that one interview, they ask the questions, then they blast her for breaking kayfabe by giving honest answers. Complete idiocy. I'm sure most wrestlers explain to their children what's going on so they don't totally freak out and lose it.

When was the last time one match defined a person's career? The only one recently that I can think of is Punk at MitB, but even with him he's probably more defined by the promo on the stage. It could possibly be all the way back to Foley

Bret Hart at Survivor Series 1997 comes to mind.

Wouldn't you say the Hardy Boyz, Dudleys, and Edge/Christian at Wrestlemania too?
