Am I the only one who believes Sheamus and Barrett should not be involved in either of the ladder matches? Each should have title defenses IMO. WWE completely ruined the value of both the IC and US belts by sticking them on guys for long periods of time rather than having them engage in title feuds. It's no wonder today's crowds see them as throw-away championships. If they're not going to show them respect, having them is pointless. If they plan on keeping the WC unified, they need to build back up the prestige of these other titles, and throwing their holders into matches you know they aren't going to win does nothing to accomplish that. Wasted opportunities IMO.
The original wrestling thread brought this topic up ever third page or so. It would be incredibly to make the other titles relevant again, but every time they start to, they drop the idea and do something like putting them in World Heavyweight matches. It would be too simple to have your top card wrestlers (Cena, Orton, Wyatt, Bryan, Reigns, Lesnar, etc) fight for a truly unified World Heavyweight Title, have Ambrose, Rollins, Ziggler, Miz, BNB, ADR, Ambrose, Cesaro (i'm not as sold on Cesaro as most here), etc fight for the IC Belt and have Bo, Adam Rose, Big E, Sandow, Fandango, etc go for the US Title.
As for Sheamus, he's a big enough international draw to vie for the IC Title. I think it further hurts the difference between the US and IC titles to have someone that has gotten over as much as Sheamus to hold the US belt. The biggest IC belt holders were always huge personalities- Honky Tonk Man, Warrior, Hennig, Jericho. I think my list of IC names fit those molds.
(Notice I intentionally left off Swagger. He's a great amateur wrestler, but he just doesn't have it for professional wrestling. Especially if he mishandled BNB causing this separated shoulder as some rumors indicate. I would cut him personally).
