Wow big news!!

according to a report from pw insider, john cena has a shoulder injury that will require surgery, which is apparently scheduled for tomorrow. That's why he wasn't on monday night raw this week and why he only cut a promo at the smackdown taping last night.

What's more, the injury is reportedly significant enough -- possibly a torn rotator cuff -- that he'll need extensive recovery time. That means he's likely going to miss wrestlemania 32, where he was rumored to be working a match against undertaker.

This would be the first wrestlemania cena hasn't worked since 2003.

If his injury is similar to randy orton's, and that's the early indication, it's roughly a 6-to-9 month recovery time. This is cena we're talking about, so that may not apply, or at least it hasn't in the past.

Still, his being out means the list of top stars missing wrestlemania 32, a show wwe hopes will be its biggest ever, is far too long for comfort, including cena, orton, seth rollins, and cesaro. The good news is the rock has confirmed he will take part in the show, in some "history making" form, and brock lesnar is scheduled back on raw next week.

It's not all doom and gloom, but this is certainly a big hit for wwe.

Cena has now confirmed it via Twitter!

Rather upside down start to 2016 as tomorrow I will head to Birmingham for shoulder surgery. Life's full of set backs but #nevergiveup

Cena out 6-9 months, wow top WWE stars dropping like flies. It sucks actually, Cena argueably had his best in ring year in 2015. However, as much as it always sucks to see guys injured, Cena, Orton, and Rollins are three huge names that won't be on Mania, therefore hopefully a lot if young guys have big matches at WM this year finally. WWE needs to capitalize, elevate Owens to Main event status. And if the rumors about AJ Styles are true, put him in a big time match right away. I think some big names missing from Mania could be a blessing in disguise if you give new/young hungry talent that major spotlight and let them thrive in it.

Cause Vince works em 300 days a year. Hopefully when HHH takes over they get more time off.

Undertaker vs Nakamura at Wrestlemania lol

Its starting to be clear to me that Nakamura and Styles will probably skip NXT. They are probably the two biggest non WWE wrestling names out there, so WWE can use them on the main roster asap. While Nakamura probably won't wrestle Taker, would not be surprised to see him at Mania in some way.

Im surprised Joe hasn't moved up yet.

Cena will magically show up at the RR. He's a healing freak.

I'm being partially sarcastic of course, but they always overestimate his recovery time.

They need to schedule off seasons for wrestlers just like any other sport. Not only would it be good for them, it would be good for fans too.

Well, I can just picture in my head HHH trying to Vince why Joe is ready for the main roster but Vince probably turns his nose at it thinking "that TNA guy?" Lol. So Styles might be screwed from the get go.

I get it that giving the new guys a push will be great long run, but a WM without Cena, Rollins, Orton, potentially Bryan, Barrett is banged up, Ambrose is banged up, Sting, Kidd and Cesaro is going to be very lackluster.

If the goal is truly 100,000, at this point, it looks like all bets are off.

You rethink your stance on Bryan. You call the Rock. You figure out how much money it's going to take for him to ignore his insurance. You make calls to Austin, Angle, HBK. You think about making amends with Hogan, to see if he would make an appearance (not as a wrestler). You call Ronda Rou...nah, just kidding there.

You look at NXT - and while they won't bring big name power - you try to figure out who can help you immediately. Enzo & Cass. Samoa Joe. Is Balor ready? Do you bring Bayley up, and let her and Sasha tear the house down?

They may somehow, in a flukey WWE way break the attendance record, but the card is gonna be shat.

January is a good time to start the build for some of their bigger matches.

I thought Cena would face Undertaker, I don't know what they'll do with Undertaker now. I'd give Kurt Angle a call.

They could do another TLC match with tag teams.

I don't think The Rock is gonna be allowed to wrestle, but if they could swing Brock/Rock that would go along way. But if it is a matter of insurance I doubt they let him wrestle Lesnar of all people.

Reigns vs the McMahon family isn't gonna be a great draw.

It's going to be a long four hours

I think instead of mass promoting NXT people, the best thing would be to just cancel NXT Dallas and put the matches for that show as part of Mania. That will fill about half of the 4 hours and provide a quality show

hearing 100k yelling MY NAME IS ENZO AMORE AND I AM A CERTIFIED G AND A BONA FIDE STUD AND YOU CAN'T TEACH THAT would be worth the view

I know it's not ever gonna happen, but I wanted to get the S.E.S vs Stone Cold Steve Austin, I guess it will join the ranks of Goldberg/Austin, a healthy Bret Hart vs Kurt Angle, and Edge/HHH as matches we never got. Kinda odd that HHH & Edge never had a rivalry, probably would of been good.

Per Wrestling Observer, Sasha Banks is now out. No details yet, other than it occured on the Dec 28th RAW.

makes the idea to make the Rumble for the title even harder. Will they have enough wrestlers to have any other matches?
