WVU Coach Now Whining About Depth Chart

Wow.

I thought people were going at Holgorsen too hard for the practice stuff, but this is ridiculously petty. Pruitt is already in his head without even trying.

The funny thing is that the "OR" stuff doesn't really work for Holgorsen. We already know all his relevant starters. We know Grier is his QB. We know all the starting WRs. It doesn't really matter if he puts up a few "ORs" on some random DBs. It's not like that's going to change our preparation any. It only impacts him, because he doesn't know our starting QB or which one of our 3 RBs he'll be seeing the most of (as they conveniently all have somewhat different styles). And many or ours are just from players coming off of injuries (such as Jauan Jennings). Though, I am admittedly disappointed that Pruitt didn't "OR" Trey Smith into 3 different O-line positions now.

Also ... you'd be surprised who reads these boards and practice reports. I know there are some people on here who think coaches don't bother with this stuff. Well, the head coach probably isn't, but major college football programs have huge staffs and someone is reading trying to gain any little edge they can. It sounds like Holgorsen has someone monitoring everything; no way he's whining about this so quickly otherwise.

Sure seems like the pressure is on them and he's feeling it.
David Ubben on Swain, said he knows Holgorsen and those comments are not him whining but rather being a bit sarcastic and poking some fun at those who “take football so seriously”. Also picked WVa to win the game.

Only in West Virginia can you use "or" as a verb. smh

Funny ! Think about how Dana would have responded, had Pruitt gone with "-IF- -NOT-."

You know, IF Pruitt wins this (his first) game, this "-OR-" will be long-remembered in Volnation. I sure hope we win this one !

I would believe it if he hadn't already started crying about us getting a little more practice than them.

I would call this a pre-emptive whine.
He's laying the groundwork for explaining afterwards why his team lost.

We as Tennessee fans should know what this is

Excuses for when it goes bad.

So it’s not like a friend to try and save face for another friend?

This is Dooley level excuses

Holgorsen should come out and talk about how West Virginia is like the Germans on the beach during D-Day:D

"On Monday, Holgorsen was being petty once again, this time over an issue he has with Tennessee’s depth chart.
Tight-lipped Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt has several “ORs” listed on the depth chart to hide the team’s starters, so Holgorsen said he did the same thing with the Mountaineers’ depth chart to make things even"

So Pruitt is already in Holgorsen's head...

DU must take football pretty seriously, if he's on the radio at 8:00am 4 days in advance talking about it.

CDH's comments, and his adjusting his own depth chart, was him whining.

This has to be the funniest Thread I have seen. I laughed until I had tears through the first 4 pages. There cannot be a better more dedicated forum for a college football team in the country. We may dispute each other daily but, when time comes to throw insults at the other team, we stand as one and deliver.

I would be like "Aight, I name McBride the starter and he will probably get hurt moments before kickoff."

I love the play by the coach. He is giving his team the best chance to win the game. Now WVU does not know who is going to start or not so it makes them have to prepare for everyone. I know he can only get away with it week 1 but I personally love it!

Folks, we finally have a coach. This dude is here to win. Not make friends, not say fancy saying, and he does not care who he pisses off in the process. Win and let God sort em out!

GBO!
