'19 WV OL Darnell Wright (Tennessee signee)

It was posted by a troll on VQ who’s always wrong.

I think we have a good shot here, but this kid will make an official announcement when he is ready. I don't think it will leak on a message board. I really hope we get him though.

Hopefully we can get him on campus again for a game.

I think a lot of people are interested but they want to see how the coaching staff has the team looking on the field. Win a couple games and I think we can get some serious momentum, but I think it might be slow going until then.

as for wright, the 5-star ol enjoyed a two-day stay on rocky top. He bonded with guys like trey smith, jerome carvin and k’rojhn calbert and meshed well with niedermeyer and will friend. Tennessee is a “serious contender” wright told volquest, and notably, while many crystal balls have the nation’s no. 2 player pegged to ohio state, it’s clemson, georgia and virginia tech that stand as tennessee’s biggest competition currently.

we're due. gimmie Morris and Wright, all day long.

imo, they may be the biggest priorities from a need and talent standpoint. also, get those two on board as early as you can, and you never know what that may do to how a QB, or RB, and how they may view TN going forward as a destination.

You can’t win in this league without a great OL/DL

yep. and i think we've already seen that they put a high priority on the LOS. i think they've done ok on the DL so far, and just from a #'s standpoint, switching to the 3-4, will help. and obviously, they have put a lot of effort in to revamping the LB corp.

the OL is where we need the most help, and you get a morris and wright in this class, plus you've already got Lampley....that's headed in the right direction.

I would bet that if we land Wright, Morris, and keep Lampley, we will call it quits for OL in ‘19 and focus on the massive amount of instate OL talent for 2020.

interesting.

No way we don’t try to bring in at least 4 on the OL, IMO. We’ll go into the fall with only 12 scholarship OL (that’s counting Smith and Hall). A lot of those guys have histories of injuries as well. And I’m not sure every one of the guys we have sticks around until 2019.

I agree but numbers will be tight since we have probably already used 3 of next years spots on this years class. I imagine next year will be very db and ol heavy though. 4 or 5 is a solid number but it will be tight.

I'm actually surprised Richmond hasn't quit yet..
