"The first couple of times I came down wasn't for a long time," Wright said. "I came for a game and they old coaching staff would be in a rush. I came down and it was more personal these past few days. After practice and before practice I talked to the coaches and it was just more on a personal level."
Wright got into Knoxville on Friday night and went straight to the complex to see the staff. He got to just see Jeremy Pruitt, Will Friend and the others in a different environment as they prepped for Saturday's practice. "It was pretty cool," Wright said. "They sleep in their office and that's pretty funny. They were laid back and they were talking about regular things and just the game."
"This morning I got to spend time with coach Pruitt," Wright said. "He thinks I can come in and make a difference early in the program. That's what they were relaying, but they were keeping it straight. They didn't tell me it was just going to be there. They said I have to earn it and that's the kind of guy that Pruitt is."
And while this staff may be all business between the white lines, they are showing some personality in their down time with prospects. "They are some funny guys," Wright said. "They keep it real and that's how it has to be. Coach Niedermeyer is probably the funniest and he's a younger guy so he can relate on a better basis."
"They are going to be a serious contender," Wright said. "Just coming here and seeing what they have and how they are doing things, I like it. "The people here a great. From a coaching point, it's the coaches and the players and then the fans. There is just a lot of good people here at Tennessee."
