'19 WV OL Darnell Wright (Tennessee signee)

Butch was 4 seasons in and had just blown the 2016 by not winning the East when UT was the favorite, and then not making the Sugar Bowl. It was becoming obvious UT was stalling under him. Pruitt inherited a team that went 0-8 in the SEC and has been an underdog in all 8 SEC games this season, and yet has already defeated 2 ranked SEC teams. Not even the same situation. And I have no idea what you mean by "before this type flips," Wright isn't committed elsewhere that I am aware of, and if you are saying Pruitt can't recruit elite kids unless we are winning more then Wanya Morris says Hey!
Thanks you made my point...its all about the winning, winning, winning. If you don't know the ones who committed to other teams or leaning that way then you wouldn't even know enough to respond. Try finding out who is committed to other teams first. Your just trying to blow hot air and prove you have no idea.

People get on the msg board and post continually that wins doesn't make a difference but playing time does. Oh they're looking for a place where they can play immediately. Only to find out each year they have been led astray and are let down as those big recruits they are about to FLIP never FLIP based on early playing time. You people might as well get that out of your heads now and forever. How many players are bragging that they are going to Clemson or Alabama because of early playing time. LOL. Wake up and smell the coffee. IT'S WINS BABY. ALWAYS HAS BEEN AND ALWAYS WILL BE. Pruitt isn't flipping them because Pruitt isn't winning yet. Pruitt is probably going to have to coach his 3 and 4 starts up and win before this type FLIPS. Higgins and Rodgers should tell everyone the real story so you people might as well get real. I know posting this stuff in a lot of fun but 99% of the time it just doesn't happen. Its just fill in material to get you through the season is all.

So then how did Butch get the #5 class off of a 5-7 season?

Yes, wins matter, but they won't matter nearly as much this year. Next season will be much bigger, and even more so the next.

Watching recruiting for the last six or seven years! It happens. We aren’t getting all these guys. I’m expecting a nice class but we’re going to whiff on some guys we think we are going to get
Ok you went from “a bunch” to “some “ in a minute!
So brace yourself cause you r just talking crap!
Of course we r going to miss on some. Everyone misses on some

If Butch can manage top 5, so can this staff.
Yeah and if everyone like bama, Georgia, Tam and Florida got the ones they want, well we would have to summons Solomon. No one gets everyone they want. Most teams want players that fits there system. Can't do like the old bear take player's just so other teams wouldn't have them.

He didn’t. That 2015 class in the top 5 was coming off a 7-6 season. Won 9 games the next two years in a feat of massive under achievement.

AP on the VQ podcast still seemed very skeptical about the prospect of Darnell visiting Bama this weekend and did not sound concerned about our position with him. Sounded confident we would get the final OV in January. He did say we needed to play the long game and not expect this one to be over soon.

Did we watch the same season? These players are not even close to their high school rankings.

Not sure what the season has to do with my point. The point was that Butch went 5-7 and landed a top 5 class. Yes, that class was a bust, but I blame player development more than bad service ratings.

He went 5-7 and got a bunch of kids who didn’t want to earn a position. Chose the Vols so they could 100% start in year 1 with minimal effort.

Jmo of course.

Why? Which of those players went elsewhere and lived up to their ratings.

Jones' recruiting is becoming more suspect by the day. It seems he had a knack for finding 4/5* players who weren't actually 4/5* players. Development and player management were huge... but there could be a good argument that he was a "stargazer" more than a talent evaluator.

I blame both, or Jones inability to tell the difference between a 4 star that had the character to be a great player and the one that didn’t. I’ll take a 15th ranked CJP class over a 5th ranked CBJ class every time!!!
