well, i do not collect "game used" memorabilia so i am not someone to have a discussion about that. if you want to discuss his UT Trading cards, we can talk. but hey, we all collect what we collect. the reason i do not look for "game used" is that if i did not see it come off his back, or have paperwork from UT stating the history of it, i have no trust in whether it is game used or not and have to lean to it not being game used. i know where 4 of his game used jerseys are, and the only reason i trust them is that i know how many 0's were on the checks these people wrote to UT during that time. Press Pass, Donruss, Upper Deck, and Panini has claimed they have had game used jerseys they used for cards, and Donruss claims that one is a Citrus Bowl Jersey based on the cards I have seen with pieces of the patch in them, and i am confident i know where one citrus bowl jersey is, so perhaps you have the other one. but i read where many of the game used the trading card companies had were bought on the secondary market, so trust what you will.
low numbered PM Tennessee autographed cards have increased in price and are very hard to find right now

it really depends on the card. if you happen to see a card that has not surfaced for years, there may be a large increase, but there are still affordable cards that have went in auction lately. i was able to get a 1/1 printing plate autograph/jersey card from national treasures a couple weeks ago for $350. i think thats pretty good value, but even being a 1/1, it is not a high demand card. if you were to list a 2009 topps magic auto, you could be looking at $700-800 right now i would guess because you have two markets looking for it, manning collectors and people working on that set and i have seen 2 of the 25 made on ebay in the last 7 or 8 years. another hot property would be the 2001 upper deck MVP Jersey auto since it is a "game used jersey" with autograph #/25. if i didnt have one, i would probably be bidding, but i think it would go for crazy money.

20181203_003529.jpgI have the actual towel that is on Peyton's belt in this photo. 523 yards passing to set a school record, at the time. No paperwork to authenticate, but in the Vol Network 'Drive To The Dome" VHS can see my green arm/orange glove snag it after he threw it into the stands. No idea what that would be worth?

Where would someone start if they were seriously interested in a Manning game-used for a personal collection? Relatively new to the board but not new to collecting.

You’re interested in a Manning game used jersey correct?

Who knows the worth. In any case it’s a neat item and a cool story that you have behind it.

Correct. Tennessee not NFL.

Gotcha. Please don’t be offended, but the chances of finding a legit game worn Tennessee jersey are 0. I searched for 20 years and found the only one that’s not in the possession of the family or the university. They’re simply all spoken for and never coming for sale. If you want NFL then I can help you.

Not offended at all! I've been collecting UT memorabilia for about 10 years but have not gotten into much game worn. Have a few but have always been curious about a Peyton. Thanks for your insight!

Do you know where game used colts are? Do you have one?

So what if I was interested in other Tennessee game used jerseys? Especially pre-1970 do you have anything?

And if I was interested in an Al Wilson from 1997 or 1998, what would that range be and are any available that you know of?

I would love to have gotten involved in game used memorabilia.
For some odd reason, the only (football) game used item I really want is a WFL Memphis Southmen jersey or helmet.

Collect autographs and tickets/stubs. I have never purchased anything…….all are from games either I went to or my dad attended. Over 400 face-to-face signatures. I lie now and say they are for my son when I ask. Usually get them on napkins, business cards, or scrap paper, so they know they aren’t being sold.

Good luck finding the PM jersey. Hope ya find one!

I'll part with a Jayson Swain autographed poster i got at one of the O&W games for 10 K. I made a crack about him being from AL and he laughed and marked them off the schedule.

I will provide a certificate of authenticity straight from the desk of JonGrudensAgent as well.

More power to you guys but I've never had the desire to collect this sort of thing. Variety is the spice of life though I guess.

You’ve probably been asked this a million times…but the stitching is really surprising. I always figured they get new gear for each game in the league. Not questioning the jersey because I know your stuff is legit. But you learn something new everyday. Never knew they repaired jerseys.

Yep….some players take “pride” in wearing the same jersey all season. I’ve seen jerseys with 20 repairs….beaten to death. Some star players wear a new one each game because they are sold. Peyton wore two jerseys per game with Denver….and Favre did a few years too. Brady was known to wear the same jersey all season in some years.

By the way, the Al Wilson UT jersey was worn all season in 1997 including the Orange Bowl. It has about 8 repairs on it.
