1. Da'Rick Rogers

I personally don't think he was at UT long enough to qualify.

Here are a few good ones I remember watching from 80s to mid 2000s:

Anthony Hancock
Willie Gault
Clyde Duncan

Tim McGee
Joey Clinkscales
Eric Swanson

Terence Cleveland
Thomas "TD" Woods
Anthony Miller

Carl Pickens
Anthony Morgan
Alvin Harper

Cory Fleming
Billy Williams

Joey Kent
Marcus Nash
Andy McCullough
Peerless Price
Cedric Wilson
Bobby Graham
Eric Parker
David Martin

Dontae Stallworth
Kelly Washington
James Banks
Chris Hannon

Jayson Swain
Bret Smith
Robert Meachem

I did say top 5 didn't I? LOL! :p That's more like top 25-30 isn't it? I guess others that couldn't think of some WR's can look at your post & help them out to remember since it's like a UT WR dictionary. :p:p

Peerless Price

Alvin Harper

Carl Pickens

Darick Rogers

James Banks

In my opinion these are the 5 best talents we have ever had at WR.

Seivers
Gault
Hancock

And no offense to these legendary receivers,....

but I hope 5 currently on the roster give me good reason to bump these greats down.

Yep...I like the way you talk.

UT has never been considered "WRU" by anyone outside of Knoxville

Wrong, Tennessee was referred to as WRU by several national media outlets in the 1980s and 90s when many of today's claimants were running wishbones and two tight end sets.

Pickens (Fulmer says best athlete to ever play for him)
Price (big time WR with big time plays during NC yr)
McGee (top WR in Sec championship team and 10 yr pro)
Sievers (a lot of game winning catches)
Morgan (great player who sacrificed for team)

Wasn't it then, Miami Hurricane's Head Coach Jimmy Johnson, that referred to Tennessee as Wide Receiver U?

Which is ironic because Miami, especially after that, has had arguably the greatest lineage of WRs ever. Hands down and not even close.

I would definetly consider UT WRU during the 80's with all the first round talent.

I'm only 30, so I have always thought UT was loaded at Rb growing up. One player would declare for the draft and there was very little drop off. Garner, Stewart, Graham, Lewis, Henry, Stephens, Houston, Foster, Hardesty, Hurd, Kamara.

To answer the question about top 5 WR that I watched at UT:

1. Washington
2. Meachem
3. Price
4. Stallworth
5. Kent

Honarable mention Marcus Nash.

Miami, hands down, has had the best group of WRs come through there than anyone in college football......and it's not even close. I would put UT behind them and LSU as far as WRU IMO. I would consider UT more as RBU

I would have agreed with this until I saw a list of WRs from the 80's. It seems like every year the Vols had a first round pick.

Bret Smith was always a favorite of mine during his time.

Willie Gault always heard footsteps and seemed to care more about his physical well being than the team.

Tim McGee had heart. I would take him over Willie any day.

Eric Swanson was an overachiever. When there was a jump ball situation, Eric always seemed to mug the defender.

I would go with (in no particular order)

Carl Pickens
Anthony Miller
Willie Gault
Tim McGee
Larry Seivers

Any Top 5 list that doesnt have 2 time consensus All American Larry Seivers on it is no list.

I completely agree. If there was a big catch to be made Larry Seivers was my guy to throw to, ALWAYS!!

For those younger than myself and that is most of you guys you missed a show when he was on the field.

Top 5 in no particular order :

Morgan
Price
Patterson
Meachem
Pickens

Patterson isn't really considered a receiver. yes, he lined up as a receiver and the staff had a small list of preferred plays for him but he was a special teams ace. Most of his stats came from special teams or run plays that began as he lined up as a receiver.
He can barely catch a cold because he is not a good route runner.

Patterson had 308 yards and 3 T.D.'s from rushing plays. He has 101 yards and 1 T.D. from punt returns and he had 671 yards and 1 T.D. from kick off returns.

He had 778 yards and 5 T.D.s as a receiver and his average catch was for 16.9 yards.

So, from rushing, punt returns & Kick returns he had close to 1100 yards and 5 T.D.'s. As a receiver, he had 778 yards and 5 T.D.'s.

I am sure that many of his receiving yards came from screen plays, which didn't require him to run a real route.
