Wrong color orange

From a girl's perspective.. I, along with thousands of other girls, do not always like to wear official UT gear... game day means orange dresses, orange scarves, orange tanks, etc.. and they do not always come in true UT orange! We get the best in the closest color we can get to UT orange and go with it!

I have a serious question.

Why do so many people wear clothing to games now that is not TN orange? I am not speaking about people who had TN orange that faded to another color, I am speaking about people wearing Auburn or Florida or even Texas Orange to our games.

When I was growing up, wearing the wrong orange was mocked by all your peers until you went and bought some real UT appare
l or at least knock off stuff that was the right
color. Nowadays walking into the game I
see the wrong color orange all over the
place.

Well I wore an orange polo last Saturday to the game it was a little darker than UT orange. I have official UT gear but I wanted to dress like the frat boys lol. It may have not been the right shade of orange but damn it I looked good lol

I agree. All the girls that wear the wrong color orange really piss me off. They should just take those off

Tennessee Athletics Polo, University of Tennessee Polo Shirts, UT Pique Polo, Performance Polos

Which is the "right" color orange? There's about a dozen different ones.

Sorry, know this is off topic, but does anyone know the name of the song that they've played on WIVK before "cryin volunteers" or something like that? And maybe where I can find it?
Thanks

Simple-attach a Pantone swatch book to every ticket. Then you will always be able to check your prospective purchase for the right shade. That's PMS 151 as noted above. And if you think that is "puke" orange, guess again. Ever notice there's almost always a shot of a UT player in college football or TV set promos? Real UT orange looks b*****n' on TV! GBO!

Odd question, but does anyone know if our current P151 has always been the "official color?" I have an old track jacket from my grandfather (circa 1970s) that is a deeper shade.

I'm curious about this, too. My vague feeling is that the color of orange for the uniforms has varied somewhat over the years. At some points the orange had a lot of yellow, at other points it was a deeper orange shade.

I wore a bright orange Tennessee shirt to my friends (uga fan) house one day in elementary school. Turns out they were going to uga fan day in Athens that day.

I was like 8 at the time but I'm pretty sure I got more than enough 'what the hell you doin here boy' comments.

I think I got Quincy carter's autograph that day lol

I like to look my best on Saturday. For a girl its kinda hard finding that perfect color. I love wearing dresses and cowboy boots to games. When I find a orange dress I buy it, since its extremely hard to find orange dresses in Knoxville.

That's not a bad combination at all. :good!:

I have an orange polo shirt that I wear sometimes---it doesn't have UT on it. Instead, it has a polo pony (white). Is that acceptable?

Quincy carter's autograph. That's about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.

Wear this weekly. Fratty as hell, but I don't care. Love that shirt.

I do not like walking in with people who are wearing my rival schools colors. I hate "the real UT" coming from the mouths of those who would habla espanol if it was not for TN volunteers, and I despise the gator chomp from someone in orange.

As TN goes to play another team who has orange prominently in their color scheme, it was a reminder that parents need to tell their children about UT orange and how even though it does not exist on any daisy known to man, it is the color proudly worn by our fans that sets us apart.

just give me the name of that screen print company, I will look them up their number for ya :eek:k:

oh, and where you will be set up to sell these shirts

Unfortunately i can not give you our CLC number. I am actually located in Memphis and am driving up for the game tomorrow. We are official licensed merchandisers for University of Memphis along with the AutoZone Liberty Bowl and Step Ahead out of Kansas who handles the SEC Tourney and NCAA Tourney in Bball and the NCAA Football National Championship. I printed for Tennessee back in 98 along with our recent trips to the Sweet 16 and elite 8.

I will not be selling shirts i am making this one specifically for me. and yes i do have the officially licensed logo sheet from CLC.

man, I am just making a point that the OP is ignorant to this idustry.....I am no longer in that side of the industry so I could care less about your number.....there are hundreds of companies that are liscensed to manufacture and print UT wearables......that is why this thread is idiotic

Oh yea and i got my tee's in and the Anvil Mandarin Orange is the closest next to a Delta Tee for matching PMS 151.

i do agree that is thread is some what idiotic but since i was in the industry i figured i should put my two cents in. This is nothing compared to what I have to deal with working with these Memphis fans. Its not even about their color blue its more that they hate orange so much we can hardly even use in a print, even though their official mascot is a freaking tiger with orange it.

You should punch everyone in the face that doesn't wear the right color orange. People would soon get the message.

T-Town,
Your spelling is about as awesome as the $5 t shirt stand you run.

Can I have a wolf howling at the moon in PMS-151 please?

I'm still not sure about the shirt CDD has worn for the first two games--I think that is supposed to be a power T on the back but it looks too much like upsidedown long horns to me! I like the black shirts the defensive coaches were wearing better (even though I knoooooow that black is not one of our colors!).
