DaRick is as solid as they come. Sounds like Hunter is back but we won't know fully til game action. We don't know what we have in CP except a lot of people saying he's awesome. We'll see.

According to Chaney and Dooley, his leadership in the workouts, weight room and practice effort has been fantastic since practice started.
Of course hyams says different and that he has been skipping workouts, doesn't listen to the coaches, and gives poor effort.

honestly this is our best WR core since Meachem & Swain i dont see a defense that can hang with our WRs Hunter reminds me of L Fitzgerald Da'Rick reminds me of T.O (When he was good) CP looks like R. Moss 2.0 that being said the only team i see stopping us IF we stay healthy is BAMA... Thoughts?

It's going to turn out to be the best WR core TN has ever fielded

I laugh at you youngsters that refer back to the days of Meachem and Swain as an example of when UT had great wide receivers.

i was referring to the last time we had a deadly duo.. i could go back to peerless

saw on twitter where someone asked swain if he thought this wr corp is on par with the swain/meach era, he said they're way more talented and in a way better position to prove their worth. a lot to be excited about for sure.

I agree. JS was a good but not great rcvr. He looked more and more like a fullback as a Jr/Sr and didn't seem to improve much. Meach was hurt and missed a yr. Smith made some plays, but that group underachieved a bit imo.

This group is more talented IMO. Not sure @ CP yet tho.

I know it sounds crazy, but I think we will see a lot of screen passes the RBs this year.... I believe that the defense will be so caught up in trying to rush Bray plus cover the wide outs and TE that the screen pass will be the perfect play a lot of the time... I think we will be really heavy on it if we can't run the ball also...

Guys we keep mentioning the big three of Hunter, Rogers, and Patterson but what about Croom he can and will be in the mix imo as well and in last nights scrimmage he looked pretty good

If all 3 play to potential Alabam's secondary couldnt stop those 3. Their secondary and D is being rebuilt. I know they just reload but we dont know how good their D will really be. LsU has a better secondary and D and losing the Honey Badger only hurts their return game. He is very overrated as a cover guy. Physical receivers abused him.

Look, I'm hyped for our team too. But you got to add a dose of common sense. I'd love to see our Vols just steamroll everybody including Bama. But this stuff about Bama not being able to stop us because of our Wrs is hogwash. Bama's pass rush is still intact and those guys are like a gang of hyenas that have a lioness isolated and surrounded. As for their secondary, they will meet us during the 6th game of the season. By that time, you better expect them to be a better unit than day one.

The real key to our beating Bama is to keep the game close and with fine defensive play. If that happens the secondary is going to be tired. We do have a bevy of dangerous WRs in the form of both back ups and freshmen. These WRs coming in fresh by quarter 4 makes it very likely we put points on the board when we need it the most. Bama isn't NCSU, keep that in mind. Additionally, we're a team with depth issues stilll. All be it a bit (just a bit) less so than last season.

Definitely on par with meacham/swain/smith. Maybe better. Meacham was the only one of those guys that got drafted. I think all three current guys have pro potential.

This ^^^

Wheel routes could be deadly as well as passes to Rivera. Those big, fast WR's can quickly clear out the middle of the field for a RB to come sneaking out of the backfield.

"O Bama" will put heavy pressure on q.b. to make him rush his throws and hopefully get in completions. This is why we MUST develope a good running game. Not an average running game but a good one.

We will be fine with an average run game that would be a huge improvement.

That is my thoughts. A good run game would be nice but as long as we can run the ball OK we will be very good on offense. Tn has a very unique situation this year with their receivers; they are good enough to disprove simple footbal logic and put up some serious points.

blah blah blah, we are talking in circles around here. I think we all need some frikin FOOTBALL!

Easy......... they have a long way to go before they can be considered better than these units:

Seivers, Morgan, Moore
Harper, Pickens, Morgan
Clinkscales, Miller, Harper
Stallworth, Washington, Parker
Kent, Nash, Copeland
