WR Recruiting under Dooley

I disagree. Playing with a still injured qb and going against a defense that was just as good, if not better, than our's. There was a reason we were the underdog.

You're right. It's because they were better coached. And I'm not a big James Franklin fan.

Yes. That's not hard to understand. I've explained it throughout this thread. Just because a guy is a great DC/OC doesn't mean he will be a great HC.

Look at Randy Shannon.

Your Randy Shannon example is an oversimplification. CLK is hands down a better recruiter, I would argue better Coaching mind, and he can develop QBs. He also showed in his 1 year here he can hang with the top coaches in the country. He also has already bested Shannons best year by turning in a 10 win season last year.

I think he will do well with the talent from the top 3 recruiting class he pulls year after year.

It's not that they lost a few games, they've spent the majority of two years getting humiliated by teams that aren't awful.

Good coaches at big programs don't take four years to beat someone good. Dooley has to deliver soon, or there's no reason to think he ever will.

And I think he will this year. That's just where we differ I guess. I haven't been happy with results but I think he came win this year.

Having a roster capable of it certainly helps.

Wasn't the better coach that day. And Dooley beat more teams last year as the underdog than Franklin did. And loss lesss games as the favorite than Franklin did.

Check them stats, yo.

Idk if I agree with CLK being just easily a better recruiter.
He is a good offensive mind though. Can move a team down the field.

I'm sick of this sh**.

WHY THE HELL WOULDN'T THEY CELEBRATE??

1. For the seniors, they went out with a Win in their LAST GAME IN NEYLAND EVER.

2. They'd been beaten down by losses, the media, the FANS....it was NICE TO WIN a game in what was a BAD season.

3. It was an overtime victory in a HARD FOUGHT game. Should they have just walked off the field?

4. As for the fans...seriously--you're pissed about how other fans react?? REALLY? I could give two rat turds how our fan base celebrates. Let people think what ever they like. We--AND EVERY OTHER FAN BASE IN AMERICA--have some really unintelligent fans (putting it nicely). I'm happy with a win, regardless. The only thing that pisses me off is when people tell other fans how they should celebrate, react, or FOR THE LOVE OF GOD...celebrate after a win over Vandy. OOOH THE HUMANITY!!!

5. You're the worst kind of fan. Pissed when they lose, pissed when they win, pissed at other fans, and then the worst part....steps up on their internet pedestal and preaches to the masses about "it's summer, relax. Recruiting is a marathon," then proceeds to spend a seemingly UNENDING amount of time b*tching and moaning about it, the coach, the fans, and OF ALL THINGS....WINS.

Who give a **** how our fan base acts, as long as they don't commit a crime or stand up and tell people how they should [fill in the blank], I'm good.

Get a hobby. Go outside. Find a girl. Find a man? Just do yourself a favor and step away from the computer.

Are you ok?

I don't think our team is as bad as some do. But that means he has to prove himself. 8-4 really proves nothing.

Stated numerous times in this thread that he is the best recruiter in CFB. No need to discuss that.

Pointing to his one year as evidence as his coaching ability is silly. Dooley's year in 2010 was just as good as his, if not better.

And in his one year, he has banked off of Carrol's recruiting/developement. If he can't win 10 games this year, he will be on the hot seat.

I think our team is actually pretty good this year. And will be even better next year.

Then Dooley sucks at recruiting.

What? No... Far more stable programs with far more stable coaching situations. When the vast majority fo starters for a third year coach are his own players, it's pretty obvious that he doesn't suck at recruiting.

If Missouri and Mississippi State are your standard for good, then there's no need to continue this discussion.

So if he's not a good HC, what's your opinion of Dooley? Or does everything that happens in a coaching regime in the first 3-4 years not count?

Back on subject, if we're going purely on Rivals ratings and potential, which most of you are, Dooley has recruited well.

Maybe I cannot overcome my blindness to TN football, but I feel like that from a pure talent standpoint that there is only 1 team on the schedule that is better and that is Alabama. I have tried to look at the experience of what each team has coming back and the talent in the starting lineup and depth without blindness.

When I look at each team, I think there is without question we have better talent than Mississippi St., Missouri, NC St., Kentucky, Vandy, and the three OOC scrubs.

I think we are at the very least on par with Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.
