Several factors contributing, but I think it's plain to see they are not well coached and have no confidence. Every WR on the roster has regressed in their production from when they stepped on campus. Throws aren't always perfect but guys with confidence make those plays. Don't think talent is the issue, I think our WR coach is so set in his "way" that he's scared to let the guys go be athletes.

Our receivers had two catches for seven yards.

Let that sink in.

Jennings 1 for 1 yard, Smith 1 for 6 yards.

Alex Ellis and Ethan Wolf had 5 for 50.

Five star receivers on the edge, and NOT ONE had a catch. Pearson had one...brought back.

Unreal.

Talk about setting someone up for failure, everyone knows that if this team was not successful that Jones would be the one to blame, a bunch of freshman and sophomores, and all of you NN blame it on the coaches, ok, it comes with the job, but 99% of the NN on here are unrealistic, by this time last year UT had the a$$ kicked a couple of times, and they have lost 2 games by less than 10 points combined, why is this not progress? the only wrong with UT football is the fans, they expect too much too soon. You' all know everything about football to your water cooler friends, and think they can come on here and dissect the game and say......If I was coach I would have........it is all BS. Go find another team if your that fed up with this university....you'r acting like a bunch of ignorant red necks.

Go Vols!!!

Remember when we argued with Clemson about being WRU? Not looking too good now. I guess that's why they removed that video.

Not that it makes a big difference but Blanc had one for ten yards.

You can't spell and calling us ignorant? We just got schooled by a first year coach, freshmen all over the field making plays and a lot of their best players on d gimpy or suspended. Find one pro football player turned game announcer, sports analyst, sportswriter or sports anchor that says cbj coaching doesn't stink. Find one vfl player that will defend cbj right now. We don't need a water cooler to discuss this. Its in the usa today, cbssports, ESPN scoreboard and on here. But what do these professional football players know about coaching?

I mentioned this in another thread but it's like metabolism.
After awhile you'll start missing on meals and eventually you lose that metabolism. It's much harder to regain it.
I think our coach is fine, but because we don't use them in our game plans they tend to make bigger mistakes when we need them. They start to look to block instead of getting seperation.
You can only blame our preparation and our game plans.
Our team is balanced regarding talent but we are unbalanced when play calling. And having passing plays.
