Well, following that logic. Trooper Taylor had our receivers doing a great job and the following year, he had both Riggs & Houston both rushing for 1,000 years each. Should have beaten LSU in SECCG.
think Trooper Taylor would leave Arkansas State???

Not until Blaize graduates...

This is in bold because it is an important message:

Joker Phillips would be an absolute steal at WR position coach. He has extensive coaching experience as an OC and a HC. This, would by far, be Butch's BEST hire. He can be of great assistance to OC Scott and the entire staff. Mega hire if it happens

COULDN'T HEAR YOU! ;-)

After doing some research, it seems the fans think he was fired for a couple of reasons. Most think the WR development took a big step back this year. Doral and Dupree were really good last year and not on the radar this year. There was also a thread about him not wearing LSU gear while he was recruiting due to him supposedly "checking out."

He also apparently tweeted the day he was fired, "Just got a call from Les Miles, what a class act." LSU fans found that pretty insulting and petty.

Both Swain and Ainge have said he's very difficult to work with, not a good guy for a staff. Can recruit but "doesn't play well with others". He'd be a bad fit. There's a reason he's currently unemployed and has bounced around.

Wasn't Craig the one who slapped his own olineman in the rear because he kept jumping offsides during the '97 SECCG?

I was wondering about that, he supposedly is an amazing recruiter. It was weird how LSU just cut him loose with no explanation, that usually has red flags all over it.

Joker is so good with WR's that he can when with one playing QB

Who did Joker Recruit at WR while at Florida?

While at KY?

How have those wr developed?

Why is he coaching at Cincinnati?

He took a qb and made him a star WR (Cobb)
He took a WR and made him a QB for one game in 2011 and won. (we should remember it well)

However, he belongs far away from Knoxville

Azzani was the reason we missed on several top WR recruits. It will be hard not to upgrade.

Losing Tee Higgins to Clemson was an embarrassment. I would like to blame that on ZA. He dropped his commit to UT early in 2016 if I remember correctly. That was before a lot of the hype over the summer and well before the losses to USC and Vandy, so those aren't the reasons he backed away from UT. Losing anymore recruits like that will be a death nail for Butch, hopefully he realizes this and that's why ZA isn't the OC and he took another job.

Some possible names:

-T.J. Weist (UConn/former Cincy with Butch)
-Kevin Beard (Miami/connection with Larry Scott)
-James Coley (UGA/Miami, Scott connection)
-Dameyune Craig (former LSU/Auburn, great recruiter)
-Joker Phillips (ehh)
-Latrell Scott (UT WR coach in 08)
-Kippy Brown (longshot)

Admittedly, I have no idea why Craig wasn't retained at LSU, but I seem to recall there being an uproar and even a "boycott" of Ed O planned by some high school coaches over Craig's termination. I also think he did a pretty good job with LSU's receivers... I wonder if he could be a good in-road to recruiting in LA if CBJ hired him....

He is a former Auburn QB, and played at a HS in Mobile County. So, I would think he might have even more of an in-road in Northern Alabama. Info I read shows he has only had 2 one year stints at LSU 12 years apart, so I am not sure that really constitutes good in-roads there.
