It's probably going to be a WR/Recruiting Coordinator position. It's gonna be someone familiar with recruiting and our area. I don't think it's gonna be NFL player turned coach.

I can't believe I missed this guy!

KEVIN GARVER --- asst. WR coach for Arizona Cardinals (might be looking for job) and he worked with Pruitt at Alabama.

He's a perfect fit IMO.

He would be a good choice.

I thought it had been said CRG was remaining the cruitin coordinator along with his new title

This is all speculation BUT, since we just hired a guy from NFL, I am starting to believe that our WR coach is in the NFL ranks.

Who are my picks??

1. Karl Dorrell (WR -Jets ) --- currently lives in Nashville and has stints with college everywhere

2. Mike Groh (WR - Eagles) --- Bama connection and Philly is cold

3. Tyke Tolbert (WR - Broncos) --- Peyton could sway him to coach here

4. Lance Taylor (WR - Panthers) --- Not meant for NFL IMO and has a Bama connection

1. Lawerence Dawsey
2. Lawerence Dawsey
3. Lawerence Dawsey
4. Lawerence Dawsey

Again, why didn't Jimbo take him with him or Taggart keep him? He's been available for a good while now. Still no job. Why?

How do you know Jimbo didnt extend an offer to him to go to MSU and he turned it down? How do you know he hasnt gotten some offers but turned them down? You do realize that sometimes coaches look for the right fit right?

Didn't realize Jimbo was at MSU, but how many years did he spend with Jimbo at FSU? Seems odd that he'd not follow him to aTm. Your point is well taken though.

How didn't you know that Jimbo is HC for Texas A&M rather than MSU?

If it is a NFL'er, lets hope (if he is retiring as has been said) its Jason Whitten. I know he has not coached (as such) but I would bet he has the ability to teach. He should know (has to with his ability to get open nearly anytime) how to identify what a defense is trying to do and how to combat it. He has played with and watched a whole lot of great players and he too, is among the best. I think I would jump at trying to hire him.

TE and WR are 2 entirely different positions. I’ll pass.

He underperformed. I hope we don't hire him. He recruits well but doesn't coach them up.

Two wrs drafted in ELEVEN years.

At this point it don't matter who the damn wr coach. Its all on the players to understand that damn playbook. Don't matter who the wr coach if the players don't know plays so whats the point

James Coley please....

He turned down Fisher to go to A&M, maybe he'd join up with some old friends in Knoxville?

He's also the lead recruiter for Jacob Copeland and Isaac Taylor-Stuart.

What about Chad O'Shea? He's currently WR coach for Patriots. When Tyson was the Quarterback for Houston.. his WR coach was Chad. They both know each other and I feel like if you are the OC/QB coach you better have a good sense of how your WR guy coaches as well.

Jason Witten mentioned an interest in coaching. He would be great with ALL receivers. At some point, UT needs to return to UT roots.

Oh goodie, then we can get John Henderson to coach the DL, and, Peyton to coach QB’s, etc.

Geez really?
