I have a few buddies that are FL fans. Its almost like they are the ones coming into this game being on the losing end of the streak. I mean none of them are confident whatsoever. Really reminds me of Dooley's 2nd year for us UT fans.

Based on what we've seen from UF the last 10-11 games, why would any UF fan have confidence going into tomorrow...other than clinging to history and hoping a much improved UT team somehow craps the bed.

UF's performance at Bama compared with UT's performance at UGA speaks volumes about where both teams are.

I don't think anyone realized how communicable Dooleyitis was...

Sandbagger. :)

I think you guys still have an overall talent and depth advantage. I think we finally have the advantage from a coaching standpoint. I think it all boils down to where the teams are mentally. I like where the Vols are in that regard. If the Gators come to play, it will be a street fight. If they mail it in like the Dooley teams, the Vols win by two scores IMO.

Exactly.

The only question, (and gator fans would probably know this better) but does WM have enough clout left with the players to get them to rally after a week off and a bunch of brow beating. If not more than likely they will lose and WMs fate is concreted.

I think the first quarter sets the stage. If UT gets off fast like they did against UGA I think UT wins by a couple scores. If UT turns it over and starts slow the game will be tight and up for grabs in the 4th.

The CDC has reported the rampant spread of Dooleyola in the state of FL. Reported to have been contracted from the state of TX and after a 3 year incubation period Gator fans are becoming infected rapidly. Only cure is to amputate the source reported to be Muschump. :lolabove:

This is key. A lot of people don't realize how much that kind of stuff can bring a team down. Football players watch ESPN/etc all the time. So they know exactly what is being said about their coach. I personally think that their team has to be in shambles right now. They don't have any faith in Muschamp or their QB, as evidenced by the infamous tweet about a "change of quarterback". I think some of them are kinda waiting for him to be fired and are ready to get a new coach in there who will, in their minds, bring a new and refreshing approach to the program.

Our guys play their hearts out for each other and for their coaches. I don't see that from Florida, period. And at that point, talent doesn't matter nearly as much.

Thing is, UGA is not Bama. Other that Gurley, I just haven't been that impressed with Georgia. I think Bama is a much better team than they are. I understand Florida fans frustration but I really don't see how they can think this game is an automatic loss. I'm actually worried about it. Florida's defense and their ability to run the football concerns me. Florida currently has more talent than the Vols, there is no doubt about it. However, if Muschamp has already lost this team then it might not matter. Still surprised that some of the Florida fans are already calling it a loss.

They should be more confident IMHO. They have the more talented team than freshman laden UT, have had the psychological advantage lo these last 25 years, are in the midst of a 9 year win streak.... while UT is clearly improved we haven't turned the corner yet, haven't beaten anybody to prove that we're a good team yet. If be willing to bet Florida's team is much, much more confident than their fans.

I think the Vols win but this game could be a disappointment of massive proportion for the Vols and their fans. I'm actually getting nervous with all the confidence around big Orange nation.

I think the Florida fans need to calm down and be patient; stick with their coach for at least three more years before they rush to judgment and fire a great coach. He is great and just needs a few tweaks on his staff--that's all. Get behind this man!!! Don't let the AD sack him. Start a petition for heavens sake. Get some former players to go on record with a sports writer with the Gainesville newspapers. Fight to keep him because the next guy might be worse. On second thought, try to get Franklin from Penn. That would be all kinds of fun for us UT fans.

The fact that they need to talk smack to try to work themselves up speaks volumes to me...I really think UF knows they will lose, they are just trying to convince themselves they aren't.

I guess all this time, Muschamp's been a Doolebola carrier and no one was aware...

Actually, I think Saban is the carrier and he is very aware. Look how he's already infected Tennessee and Florida...Dooley, Muschamp, Sal Sunseri. Jimbo Fisher at FSU must have been immune.

I'm not sure I totally agree with this blanket statement. On the offensive side our skills players are head and shoulders better than Florida. Specifically WRs and QB and RB might be a push. Our defensive backfield could be one of the best in conference. So while they may have a advantage on the lines, which is critical, to just say they have more talent in general is a line I'm not ready to cross. Especially when you consider talent is useless if it's not being productive on the field and coached effectively.

Reasons why this is a close game.
1. Muschamp is on the hot seat and wants to cool off with a win.
2. UT is young and will make some young mistakes in such a big game.
3. UF must win this game to stay in the East hunt. Lose, and that dream is over.
4. 9 wins in a row should give the UF players confidence.
5. Two weeks to prepare for a division rival.
6. Players that are at least an equal, talent wise to UT.

been reading Gator Country boards, most are saying Fl will win by 10+ just "because they are florida"
