Wouldn't it be nice to have a 240lb 5-star RB on this football team?

Hey, wait a minute. We do have a 5-Star RB on this team. But he's playing 2-3 string linebacker.

Should have him over playing RB this week instead of Beasley. But shoot, I'm just a couch HC, so what I know......

Running back ain’t our issue. Our OL is straight trash and our 4th year QB played very poorly last week.

Reminds me a little of Bear Bryant. Bear visited Bo Jackson. Bo was hand washing his baseball uniform.

Bear said, "Aight boy. I want you to come to Alabama, But you ain't playing running back. You a linebacker. And you ain't playing your freshman year, you gone a redshirt and wait yore turn."

According to Bo, right then and there was when he decided to go to Auburn. So he could play against that man every year.

Not sure what your point is, but I'm pretty sure he chose us over Clemson because Pruitt agreed to let him play Defense.

Edit: and I wasn't being a smartass, maybe that was your point ..haha.

We had one of them, he was in the wrong type of offense but still cracked the top 5 in career rushing yards. Everyone thought he was a tight end, he transferred and gave that a try and ended up getting drafted by a west coast team. Them was the good ole days.

Depends on how tall he is........I mean really if he is 3ft 5” 240 is prob a bit too heavy.

Of all the positions we are struggling RB is not one of them. May be the only one. And like other have said he chose to play defense. Put him at RB and well see him in the transfer portal Monday morning.

Instead we have a 5 Star 240 pound linebacker on our team. Point? He has been on the team for one game. He a bust already?

When your team is terrible sometimes it is hard to pinpoint the root problems. With that said, maybe I'm too hard on JG. I look around the country and I see WR after WR straight making big catches over 25 yards. The QB has great confidence that they will come up big. People talk about JG being risk adverse or scared to throw certain passes. Maybe he doesn't have confidence our WR will come down with the ball or is fast enough to run under an imperfect pass. Of course this would be concerning but remember just a year ago were were talking about the lack of speed and Lyle Jones recruited WR with all the same skill set.

Just a thought.

Per 247 Sports, he is a 3-star

Jeremy Banks, Tennessee, Inside Linebacker

Pretty sure we haven't had a five star RB in a while, unfortunately....

He's like a poker play that always plays tight, never takes any chances, never truly gambles, only bets with "the nuts", etc. So he's easy to read and never gets the risk/reward.

Good to hear he wanted to play LB. I hope he turns into a really good one, we need him.

100% correct. LB is his position primarily because he asked to play it when he got here. And he’s gonna he a good one imo.
