It's hard to believe people would rather see an SEC championship than a national championship. One requires one game to win and most likely is a twice a decade occurance. The other requires 6 straight wins and might not ever happen if not this year.

Basketball NC, hands down. Someone said it's been since 1998 that we have won the SEC. It's been 41 years since we did this in basketball, and we have never even made a Final Four in basketball.

People saying its stupid or silly to want an SEC football title over a NC basketball are just wrong IMO. Its simply a matter of what you prefer. Ask yourself, would you rather Tennessee win a national title in track or a SEC football championship. I would even take a basketball or baseball conference crown in that situation. If you are a huge track fan then that situation might be different. I like basketball and I will be cheering them all the way to the title(hopefully) but it will never come close to football.

OK, I'll go with the national title.

for the past three years you can see this thing slowly building towards a championship just as our football program did in the mid-90's. I personally can't imagine an SEC Championship in football comparing to a national championship in basketball. Especially if you look at last year as an example. We could have easily won the SEC championship even with a very up and down season. A win v. LSU would have been nice but still would have lacked the credentials for a great season.

Go Vols!
