Would you pay - post game press conferences?

Man, I grew up watching the Johnny Majors and then the Phil Fulmer show on Sundays on WKRN. Life seemed more simple and cheaper back then. For most of us, it was to actually see the rerun of the game and not necessarily the coach!

Now they want to charge and people actually pay for post game news conferences? I do find that humorous because I remember later on, four/five of us getting together at a friends house and each chipping in $10 a piece to watch the ppv.

I do miss Jefferson Pilot sometimes.

Phil talked way more than John once he got in there

I'm sure UTAD will get a hold of this, but would you pay to sit in on post game press conferences?

LOL. I have to wonder how long it'd be before someone got disruptive at the post-game presser after a big game. "I paid for this seat, I can say what I want!" I can hear it already. Goodbye old Vol Calls, hello new and improved Vol Calls for folks with money to burn.

More to the point though, this only helps build my case for "they're at the stage where they're going to view every interaction as a monetization opportunity." I can't help but wonder what they'll pick to try to put a price on next.

There are always people willing to part with their money. I wouldn't because I can watch it for free. Someone will want to be there to get photos, meet people, and just say there were. Nothing wrong with that.

It was a fun show under Fulmer to me. You really learned how the game unfolded from the coaches view. It was watching a condensed game that upped your football IQ. Once Dooley and then Butch got a hold of it, the show was trashed for me. I haven't watched it in forever.

Pretty much every big time program is going to start offering “expenses” for the fans to make more money.

Welcome to the new age of college athletics.

They can always start charging to be in the Vol Walk crowd.
Dude, that was awesome! How did you think of this? This needs to be knighted for when they do begin charging, you deserve the E-cred! I’m being 100% serious because people will pony up to watch the Vol Walk.

I really do wonder if someone in the AD department has thought of this and, if not, if someone there does see this, they are definitely getting a raise! I guarantee that more people will pay to watch the Vol Walk than press conference. @Freak the above post needs to be highlighted! For posterity!
