Would you like to see Evan Berry on offense?

The wheel route would be awesome, put him in the back field and let him take off. And a few sweeps here and there. I'm all for it!!!

The two things I can't wrap my head around is this.

Why not use Berry on offense?(already talked about berry in my previous post)

and

Why not Tyler Byrd on defense?- Tyler came in a highly ranked DB. He killed it in the Army All-American game. We suffered there last year and besides Cam we really didn't have anyone who our opponents we're scared to throw around. Now we're hoping Shaq lives up to the hype and Martin or someone else steps up.

I'm not saying Tyler doesn't have the potential to become an Elite WR.

These two decisions just have me scratching my head.

Berry runs with great power and balance along with his game breaking speed...so he will stay at 5 string safety and return a couple kickoffs per game. I can't even trust Butch to get the right players in the right position and the right amount of touches. Figure it out.

Does anyone not remember that Evan was 2nd team RB on his HS team? There may be a reason he doesn't play there on the college level.

Would you like to see Evan Berry on offense this year? It's something I've seen and heard discussed a lot this summer. We talked about it here two years ago. The fact is, we don't have many proven big play threats on offense (Jennings, but he's not going to run by anyone), and Berry could add that element. Get him the ball in space and anything could happen.

So, given the choice, would you like to see Berry on offense? Could he help the team there?
I'd like to see more JJ in the wildcat and more EB on offense this year. :good!:

Design a play where Berry stands 40 yards behind the QB and Dormady punts it back to Evan and the ball flies 35 yards in the air.. All 10 block downfield. He returns it 50 yards for a 15 yard gain. Genius.

What a great question, Freak!

Yes! I absolutely think he needs to be on the field more and get his hands on the ball more. Here's some suggestions for how it could be done.

1. Line him up as the 2nd TE on the weak side and have him

a) drag across the middle and throw it to him on the run;

b) run the skinny post down the middle of the field while Wolf runs the seam on the strong side.

2. Line him up in the backfield and run him out on a wheel;

3. Line him up in the backfield and run him out on a pattern like Malone ran against Fla for a score.

4. Line him up at WR and run him on the speed sweep, or whatever you call it.

5. Line him up at WR and throw him the ball on the quick screen.

I don't know if any of those play would work...but the point is to try to get the ball into his hands for big plays on offense at least 4 or 5 times a game.

What could it possibly hurt? How much room would he actually need to make 1 guy miss and take it to the house?

Yes sir. Give him 6-8 runs a game. Line him up in the slot 8-10 snaps. It is a waste to not use him somewhere on the O.

I understood he played QB not RB, I could be mistaken. It's just my recall from some folks who are big Creekwood fans here in the ATL.

Keep him on D. We have to have studs in the two-deep. Injuries happen. We have to have good players there ready to play.

I would love to see him get a few snaps a game on offense. He's definitely a threat to score Everytime he gets the ball but technically would be unproven as a receiver. But we have a few guys like Byrd and Williams who have elite WR speed they just need more reps and opportunities. I really think we have a group of WR's that could be special and elite and finally have a WR coach who can coach these guys up.

JJ under center, JK in wildcat, Berry in slot or wildcat. Butch has shown an attempts to mix it up and get tricky when ever it is blatantly obvious. Why not start doing it as a more frequent part of the offense. What the heck do we have to loose with the streaky offense as of late.

He has been underutilized. Stupid to allow our best ball handler to only touch the ball when the other team scores. Get this man the football somehow, someway. Jet sweeps, screens, line him up in the slot a couple of times a game. Something.

He is one of the most electric players on the entire team. He is a weapon. When has the ball, he scores touchdowns. That much is proven.
