What about Spurrier’s Fun and Gun gimmick?
What about Urban Meyer’s spread gimmick
What about Auburn’s gimmicky offense with Cam Newton?

Leach might have to make some tweaks and evolve his offense but he put up some points with it using Kentucky talent. I’d love to see what he could do with Tennessee top 20 talent

We would be hiring another coach in 3-4 years and the HOH would be vindicated. Phil CAN’T screw this hire up, he has to hit a homerun or we will suck for at least another decade.

Look at Texas A & M and take a look at Jimbo's resume. Let me put it this way. In manufacturing, you have several openings for your plant. Why is searching for a football coach be any different? One aspect of our immediate goal at UT is to WIN and be competitive in the SEC. Look around you folks. Saban, Jimbo Fisher, Mullen, and Smart are not one of those resumes you would just file away and never look at again. I hope you get my point. I really don't give a rat's ass if the new pick has UT ties or not. But can he WIN in the SEC? Can he defeat these coaches on regular bases? This is what we need to concentrate on. What are our goals and who do we need to hire to get us there? It's in Fulmer's hand and time is running out. Make a wise choice. Forget about the money and hire the best there is available based on what UT goals are. And can that person take us to the promised land of winning and recruiting? Be wise because now Mr. Fulmer you own the future of UT football.

Very Good Points in this Post. With Jimbo's contract UT will have to pay 7+ and at least 4 years for a proven coach that can compete in the SEC. I trust Fulmer. What do you guys think about Hugh Freeze for OC and Tee as HC?

look, we have an Orange Bleeder as AD...AD Fulmer will do the best he can...we just gotta trust him and support the next coach, whomever accepts the job, which for AD Fulmer may just be the "best available"...definitely believe he would like to have people with UT ties...it's a tough situation for him right now...:yes::eek:hmy:

GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with your premise. Look at the entire story, understand the context, go beneath the surface.

That said, Majors would’ve been fired after year 4 at Tennessee had he not been a favorite son. His first 4 years at UT (21-23-1, including a losing season in year 4) were worse than the last 4 Battle years (28-17-2) that got him fired.

All that said, on a related note....Bring me Tamaurice Nigel “Tee” Martin.
