A few thoughts crossed my mind with the departing of Calipari and the possibilty that seemingly exisited Bruce departure for Memphis. Obviously he was coming off a worse season than previous unless consider co-champs in a weak division good. Secondly, is it weird that Tyler possibly leaving for the NBA doesn't come out a day or so later after Bruce's new contract? Just wondering.

I say Faithful.
Tenn was first "BIG" name school to give him a shot. Bruce will be loyal, despite the arrogant "what have you done for me since last week" fans who are already calling for his head.

Considering the Tyler to the NBA talk was going on last year at this time as well, no, I don't think there was anything to it this year a few days after the announcement of Pearl's new contract.

I realize the original poster is pretty much done with this thread, so it's a waste of time to even ask this, but I wonder why he is now seeming to lament the fact that Pearl might go somewhere else. Seems like OP guy would like that considering every thread he's made after a loss this past season.

Bruce will go where it helps his career best. Don't be naive.

He is like most every other coach in the country. He is a faithful opportunist.

Even more sad - the reason I got the reference was I saw his book in a bookstore . . . while picking up a copy of Ric Flair's book.

While it is probably true Bruce would leave under the right conditions lets be very glad we have him to give us a very good team to watch and compete every year. I can tell you a lot of schools would love to have his energy in their program!

I wish that he would have just sat down with Hamilton at the end of the season and said "look, Alabama's coach is making $2 mill.... don't you think that I merit more than I'm making" ??? imo, I don't think that he had to play Memphis against us. I think Hamilton would have given him the raise.

It wasn't that great of a PR move for a PR guy.

I was about to post about the Adam Copeland reference, but thought it couldn't THAT Adam Copeland.

Sad I know that though it's been years since I watched wrestling. The only way I keep up with it now is reading about them dropping like flies.

How could he say that after the crap season his team had?
