Would you be happy at 7-5 this year?

Never have and never will consider a win over uga, uf, or uat an "upset".

That's strange considering the fact that they have been pretty regularly favored against us and have pretty regularly owned us of late.

Expexted but not respected. Its high time we start winning some games we're not meant to

I'd be happier if we got to the point where we were supposed to win more games.

If your definition of "of late" is last season then I'm sure they were vegas favored. I'm travelling and don't care to look, but over the last decade plus I'm sure the line has been reflective of the home team. We are all considered conference powers and rivals on varying levels.

Regardless of vegas or recent defeats, I enter the week against those teams expecting to win.

I understand some fans choose to play the woe-is-me role. I choose to expect to win and get no gratification in near wins or trying hard. If Dooley doesn't beat uga, uf, and uat on a regular basis we will find a coach that can.

Can we confirm that our team has Tiger Blood?

“AA was written for normal people. People that don’t have tiger blood and Adonis DNA,” “[I survived drug addiction] because I'm me. I'm different. I have a different constitution, I have a different brain, I have a different heart. I got tiger blood, man.” -Sheen

Damn right!

Vegas Line for TN is 6.5 wins for 2011. Thus, 7 wins will mean the staff pulled off at least one win the "oddsmakers" didn't expect them to with this roster.

IMO, 8 wins and CDD has TN exactly where they should be going into 2012.

GO VOLS!

Does winning and then losing count as .5 wins? Maybe oddsmakers think we will have another one of those.

Agreed. Take their 6.5 and raise them. Not a gimme, but it's what we have to do to keep tracking.

7-5 > big joke. I rather go into UT/Fan hibernation mode for a few years if 7-5 is the new status quo. That is horrible! Totally ridiculous to even entertain that thought.

Who in the hell is satisfied at 7-5?

That should be the minimum acceptable. That assumes we beat all 4 non conference games and Vandy, UK and at least one SEC upper tier or mid tier SEC team. Winning will help recruiting more than anything. I'm not a star gazer but having a lineup filled with top 20 ranked players at each position really helps you win. That was the case in 1998 when CPF had a nice run 92-95 which culminated in a really great 1996 recruiting class and eventually a championship in 1998. That's how you get momentum and 6-6, 5-7 not many blue chippers get excited about the program.

Curious to see if the fan base here would be satisfied with a 7-5 record in year 2.

I think that is the most likely scenario for this year and in my opinion that would suffice for a good year considering the lack of depth and experience on this team. However, I would also expect us to be close in all our losses and not have any blowouts.

i'm expecting 6-6 or worse so yes, I will be satisfied..

The difference between 6-6 and, say, 9-3 is a handful of big plays, IMO. If Hunter, Rogers, Bray, and Poole all play to their ability, 9-3 isn't out of the question whatsoever.

To be a Champion think like a Champion, never lose never gonna lose..Why have the boys going on the field thinking ahh its alright if we lose this one, were suppose to, heck with that crap shock the world bash some heads and piss everyone off run the dang table.

I'd be okay with 7-5 with a bowl victory.
Here's a question, would you rather go 8-5 with a bowl victory or a bowl loss?

I will never be satisfied with a 7-5 record. Tennessee fans shouldn't be satisfied with an average team either. I want to compete for championships every year and for the University of Tennessee or its fans to say will you be satisfied with anything less is wrong.

If your definition of "of late" is last season then I'm sure they were vegas favored.

In 2010, all three were favored against UT.

In '09, Florida and Bama were favored. UGa was a pick 'em.

In '08, all three were favored.

In '07, Florida was favored. UGa and Bama were pick 'ems.

In '06, Florida was favored. UGa was a 2 pt dog, Bama -11.

In '05, Florida and Bama were favored. UGa was a 3pt dog.

That's 12 times in the last 6 years UT entered the game as underdogs against 3 times we were favored with 3 pick 'ems. I'd say that covers "pretty regularly" and "recently" beyond last season. That has nothing to do with a "woe-is-me" role.
