Yes I am a supporter of Phil, but I also knew his time had come to go. Just wondering VN, hypothetically if there was a guarantee that Evan & Elliott would commit to the Vols if Fulmer was given the A.D. position would you support him then. It just seems that he is well liked by Eric & James Berry. This is just for fun but could you imagine those twins locking down the secondary for three years.

What about the other years? UT didn't win a damn thing with Eric Berry out there either unless you count a division title that was backed into during his freshman year.

If Espn fires lou holtz and I didn't have to see and hear him spitting all the time, I would go for that.

Any Fulmer for AD supporter answer me this. What has Phillip Fulmer done to prove he can run an entire athletic department? Not only is our next AD going to have to make men's athletic decisions outside of football, the new person will eventually be running every bit of athletics on campus regardless of gender. Now tell me how Phillip Fulmer is in any way qualified to make decisions in softball, soccer, tennis, track, golf, baseball, and beyond? I have no doubt that Phillip Fulmer loves the University of Tennessee and wants to see it succeed, but so do I. If being a Tennessee man is all it takes to get hired, let's throw every active member of VolNation on the list. As much as I want to see Coach Fulmer in another successful job, that job needs to be as a football coach and not as an Athletic Director.

We paid the man $6 million to just go away and he has flunked that assignment so tell me why you think he would be successful as the AD?

so you want us to consider whether we want to sacrifice the entire men's athletic department in exchange for two high school kids?

this is one of the worst threads in recent memory.

I hate it that I never get into these threads soon enough to post something like this. Nonetheless I do agree with this post from start to finish.

No experience, but that didn't stop Hammy from becoming an AD.

I don't think it will happen but I would support him until he showed me that I couldn't. Fulmer way great in his prime and he bleeds orange. If his abilities match his passion for TN he would be the greatest AD ever. That is a big IF though. Hammy brought in the dough but that was about it.

You can always tell it is off season by the crazy topics that appear on this site. I can hardly wait until September for "FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE".

I will never understand the thinking behind wanting PF for AD, did those that support this idea not witness what the man did to the football progran on his watch? I will give the man credit for what his teams did in the past. However, I keep thinking back to the 08 Bama game,( I know you remember what Neyland Stadium looked like in the 4th Q) and I realize that PF must stay as far away from UT football as humanly possible.

fulmer's likely lobbying hard behind the scenes for the AD job, since no one will hire him as a coach.
