Would we move up to no. 1?

Just for grins, when we beat A andM , and Bama, do we move up to the no.1 slot?

I'd say no. Alabama would still be ahead of us and Notre Dame too, if they beat (or lose) to next weeks opponent.

??? Beat two top ten teams and move up 5 spots? Hell, Louisville moved up like 15 spots beating an overrated FSU. If we beat #1 Alabama, we will be number 1 or 2 due to the fact that Ohio State still will not have played anybody so we should jump them.

If we beat TAMA and BAMA well the best we would get is 2nd behind OSU. most likely 3rd behind OSU, CLEMSON. Undefeated keeps us in the top 4 no matter what.

If we went undefeated this year, played in the Championship game and won, we would probably drop a couple spots.

It depends on how we beat the teams. If we dominate both of them, winning by more than 2 TD's, we'd probably move to #1. If we squeak by both of them, I could see us at #3, maybe #2.

Nah. I am basing this strictly on what I've observed this year. If we beat A&M and Alabama we should be around 15th. I think if we can go undefeated we will finish around 9th.

Enjoy this week being ranked # 9.....I have a feeling the Vols won't remain in the top 10, don't you?:cray:

Me personally, I think we would warrant consideration for it but Ohio St and Clemson would probably be ranked ahead of us because there seems to be a bias against us for whatever reason. But to me, if you beat 4 top 25 opponents in consecutive weeks and 3 of them were undefeated when you played them, you should be number 1. Just my thought.

The way the polls are going this year I would say no. We won't get a fair evaluation until the committee gives their rankings. JMHO

We would be #2 until the OSU - Michigan game, then #3. It's fun living in this imaginary world, huh?

This. It's hard to move past an undefeated team ahead of you later in the season. All we could hope for is Clemson to drop one to FSU and OSU to drop one (or more) to Michigan, Michigan State or Nebraska.

And not forgetting Houston and Michigan either.

If we work like heck, go undefeated, and win the SECCG, we might get an invite to the Birmingham Bowl!
