You are right that UT's spring game was less than inspiring. But I don't think Heupel sent the QBs out to "prove" themselves either. UT doesn't have a competition for the starting job right now.

Umm, no. The job is Milton's. Nico isn't close nor is anyone else. For one, Milton has a 3 year head start. Nico isn't physically as ready as he needs to be either. He needs to add muscle to take a starter's physical abuse.

Now, Milton can lose the job the way he did two years ago. But it is most definitely his job to lose and by his inactivity in the portal... Heupel is showing high confidence that Milton is his guy this year.

I don’t believe I mentioned Moore. Nor the spring game. I just don’t believe the QB starting gig was handed to Milton on a platter. I fully believe there is competition and coach will play whoever gives us the best chance at winning games. Seems real crazy I know.
