Ready for silly season to end and football season to begin.George Maclntyre is trending up . A lot of unknowns here beig a true freshman .
( positives ) probably the best athlete of the three , as good or better arm as the other two , definitely the highest ceiling of the three . He comes from a football family , so the pedigree is there .
( negatives ) he is bone thin and needs to gain about 25 pounds and he has no experience at the college level .
Three weeks from today , can't get here fast enough.

You run the risk of damaging young talent both physically (the SEC isn't HS) and mentally (their confidence in their talent) by throwing them off the pier.I would of started Nico in 23 over Milton , we imo would of had a similar record and Njco would of had a full year of experience going into 24 . Same situation here with G-Mac . Ultimately it's up to the coaches , I'm just giving my 2 cents
Agreed!! As good as this defense will be you have to give it a chance to win it for you. I think with a defense this good an incompletion and a punt on third down is better than a pick that could change the momentum of the game. I know that isn’t what a lot on here wants to here but it is reality.Joey Aguilar has a gunslinger mentality.
Heupel is adverse to that mentality. He will not start a guy that turns it over.
I really have no clue who the QB is going to be and I’m not sure whoever will be named starter will keep the job.
We’ll be lucky if this offense is Top 25 this season.
So was Peyton, his last 23 games he threw 23 interceptions as a Vol. Aguilar 25 games, 24 interceptions. When you're having to throw it 35- 40 times a game, yeah you're gonna turn it over. Look at Danny Wuerffel..Fla threw it all over the place..23 games his last 2 years, 23 Int'sWell what we know from history is JA is a turnover machine and today wasn’t any different. I am not sure this offense will be good enough to spot good teams a TO so hopefully he either fixes it or one of the others step it up.
And those interceptions are why he never beat Florida or won the big game. If JA starts and throws his average of 1 interception per game this season the ceiling for this team is 8-4.So was Peyton, his last 23 games he threw 23 interceptions as a Vol. Aguilar 25 games, 24 interceptions. Exactly, all these people freaking out about his weight seem to forget that Ken Dorsey won a NC clocking in at about 6’4” 185lb. If he can learn the offense and consistently hum that tater better than the other two he will start I don’t care if he weighs 135, if he can’t he won’t simple as that.I know, right? He's like Tyler Bray record-setting year thin!
Dorsey also hadn't been out of HS a few months and had been in a college strength program..2 completely different things You can be 185 and have muscle and college strength, GMac clearly doesn't yet. And Bray was 220.Exactly, all these people freaking out about his weight seem to forget that Ken Dorsey won a NC clocking in at about 6’4” 185lb
Agreed I believe this offense needs a guy who gets us in the right set and gets the ball out on time. Both Nico and Joe struggled with getting the ball out on time and I think that is why we struggled. Hooker processed the game so quick is why he excelled he recognized what the defense was and got the ball to the open receiver. You're right on Peyton, but Wuerffel won a NC throwing 13 Int's. Just saying. But, we all know Heupel QB's don't throw Int's, he puts them in positions to mitigate that..And if they do, I doubt they will start for long.
Absolutely..Milton and Nico did not process things quickly and were badly wild a lot of times. I imagine processing may be an issue this year too. No way JA knows all the offense and it's been reported Merk should know the entire playbook by now and doesn't. That's supposedly a concern too. I'm not holding out hope on having a great passing game this year.Agreed I believe this offense needs a guy who gets us in the right set and gets the ball out on time. Absolutely! I've said this same thing. Would be different if he was doing it against the 1's and 2's. No way in hell he's ready yet. But, I do think he will be a great QB for us possibly by next yearI know that we are notorious around here for turning mole hills into mountains. I'm happy to hear good reports about George. But, keep in mind, he got most of his reps against "Carson Newman" while the others got most of theirs against mostly "SEC level" defenses.
Yeah, I'm sure. In 2000, about 100 guys weighed 300+ in college ball. Today there's about 500, likely more, weighing 300 or more. You sure about that? Our d line in 2001 was John Henderson, Albert Haynesworth, Bernard Jackson and Will Overstreet amongst others and our LBs weren't small fries either.
Everything I've heard about the kids is that he's a gamer when the lights come on. So hopefully this translates along w about 30# of muscle.Absolutely! I've said this same thing.
