Would CDD have been able to

What if Eve hadnt eaten that damn apple..........................

Current theory is that it was a fig, though others pursue the pomegranate theory. A few push for the banana which carries an interesting connotation given it's shape, upturned appearance, size, and what was done with it.

First off, Franklin is a douche.

Second, could have just posted this in the countless other Dooley sucks threads.

Third, Dooley went to a bowl game his first year here. He went to a bowl game at La Tech. He will go to a bowl this year.

Fourth, Franklin is a douche.

So if Dooley coached Vandy last year, and franklin coached UT, would the game still have gone to OT? Would UT have won? Or are you saying Dooley could have taken Vandy's players and beat UT?

I say if Franklin had coached UT vs a Dooley coached Vandy team last year that Franklin and UT win big.:bash:

Championship level logic. Might as well lock it up, boys.

I really dislike Franklin but if we are talking just last year think he could have taken UT and whipped the piss out of Vandy. I am hoping Dooley does a 180 from his two previous years but the jury is out on him. I must say Dooley is one of the most unlucky coaches that I have ever witnessed.

Dooley may prove to not be a good coach. However Franklin is NOT a great coach.

Dooley IS the better recruiter. Hands down. No question.

Being the best recruiter Vandy has had in awhile by no stretch makes someone a great recruiter.

Final note. Franklin had a team limited on talent. He however had a full roster of players with a normal distribution of experience. His 6-7 record was no "miracle" considering the experience on his roster and the schedule he played.

And before the negavols jump in... UT being bad does not mean Vandy was good.

Agree with you on Dooley (in this post) but completely disagree with you on Franklin. The jury is still WAY out on him at best... at worst, he's what I think he is... a coach that belongs in FCS or at best a low level ACC/BE team. (And yes. That could be DD too. We'll see)

You may not want to hear this, but the fact that Franklin is getting threads on VN means he is at least making Vandy relelvant for discussion...........which, despite his being a complete toolbag, is his plan and is working. Why don't we just let him show the world what a clown he is without help from VN?

Ok, chief, how many threads did Bobby Johnson generate on here? Hmmm?

That would depend on whether or not the people applying the pressure had good looking wives.

That quote alone shows how much of an amature Franklin really is. The fact that he couldn't pull his old QB from Maryland to Vandy, you know after he was his position coach and coordinator, shows his true level of competence.

Take Vandy to a bowl game last year if he had been their coach? I was trying to decide who was the likely better HC between Dooley and Franklin when I asked myself that question. IMO, with the talent at Vandy, I do not believe Dooley would have taken them to a bowl let alone take UGA/ARK and UT to the wire. Vandy was at a serious talent disadvantage in those games. I also wondered if CDD would be able to recruit as well as Franklin is at Vandy andI do not think so. I believe Franklin is a better HC from this thought process. I also believe that CDD better win 8 or more games this year or he may be shown the door. He might survive a 7 win season, I am just not sure.

So, who do you think is the better coach, CDD or CFranklin?:peace2:

Either you are James Franklin or a complete idiot. Either way your a trolling douche.
Like it or not Dooley will survive a 7 win season, however I truely hope you do not survive this thread.

I've long thought that the job Franklin did his first year at Vandy was as comparable to Dooley's first year at UT as you can get. Each played a couple of close games but ultimately lost. Each took their team to a bowl but ultimately lost--although the decision at the end of the MCB lead to a rule change that would now result in a WIN for UT and Dooley.

The only area I see Franklin being better at is marketability. He's cozied up to the Nashville media and has done a great job at getting VU in the media....but until he beats someone that Vandy typically ALWAYS loses to, I'm not getting caught up.

I've seen this before from Vandy--they ALMOST beat an SEC opponent then all of a sudden they're on the fast track to a championship. Please....over the last 10 years Vandy has given Florida, South Carolina, and Arkansas some good games....even won a couple here and there (hell they've beaten Spurrier 2 or 3 times), but they're still on the outside looking in for an SECE crown.

There's no doubt though, Franklin is doing a good job but other than Wake Forest and Ole Miss, he hasn't beaten ANYONE of note. Although, I'm sure Vandy fans see the Elon's and Connecticut's as football juggernauts...color me skeptical at best about Franklin.

one troll creating a thread does not make JF "relevant" at all.

and yes, there were Bobby Johnson threads on VN when he was around

like this one: http://www.volnation.com/forum/tenn...t-about-bobby-johnson-ut.html?highlight=bobby

It's not one troll, its like a thread every few days. If you think Bobby J. generated this much talk on VN, then you're in serious denial. Look, I agree he's a moron, but you just have to know he loves getting thread time on VN no matter what the content. All I'm sayin.
