Would a win at Auburn make you feel...

A win would only stand to prolong the agony. If what I'm reading on here is true, all Phil has to do is win 8 games and he's still our head coach. I'm not suggesting we lose but there is some logic to the fact that if we win, we could be stuck with the same staff for even longer. A dreadful thought at best.

a win would really solidify for me that Auburn's offense hasn't yet adapted to the spread, which was readily apparent in the 3-2 debacle.

A win would be fantstic. A road win at Auburn is always a big deal. When I first started watching the Vols(82), Auburn was the second biggest game of the year and the first big SEC game of the year. Tennessee has won once at Auburn since 1982(7 games)

Until the Vols show that they can play disciplined football, I have little hope for the rest of the season.

It would make me feel a little better just because it is a win, but not that much. I look for UT to beat Auburn Saturday. Auburn is struggling on offense just as much if not worse than UT. I think we do enough to win a very low scoring game. Probably the team with the most mistakes will lose. We have had the most mistakes all the games so far, so hopefully Auburn will make a few more than us on Saturday.

Did you watch their offense against LSU??? It's starting to click which is going to be scary

A win is a win is a win but a win against Auburn at their house is a special thing to be savored and hang the consequences of providing fodder to the should he stay/should he go schools of thought.

I am always gald to see Tennessee win a big game but in the long run it would probably just depress me more because of the long term affects. The coaches could then hang their hat on a big win this year and it would just delay the inevitable.

You know what would happen right? If the Vols win, and the season still turns out hopeless like many on here think it already is, next year the trash talking to Auburn fan will be overwhelming.

This weeks boards have been about as bad as I've seen in my short tenure on VN.

It would be like a bag of Cheetos to a malnourished person. Tremendous in the very short term, but utterly meaningless to the long term problem.

I kinda feel like nothing we do matters until Florida loses two games and we win out. I am still going to root for my team, but losing to Florida pretty much ruined my season.

If it's a 10-7 game, then no, b/c the o still sucks. But if it's like 30-17, yeah a lil' better

I know I would feel better even with a loss if we look like we have seen a football field before. That to me is what is most embarrassing is that we look like a team just thrown out on the field so the other team has someone to play. Our seniors need to step up and our playmakers need the ball in their hands for four quarters. My whole outlook on the program isn't always wins vs losses it's more like did we play well enough to say we had a chance in the fourth quarter (and thats not meaning a team like UCLA that shouldn't have been on the field with us in the fourth). But I really don't think I will ever get to feel better about this team with Crompton in at QB. He doesn't have the mental cpacity to run a high speed Tennessee offense.

A big win here or there is insignificant, because Tennessee's problem is that it can't help but lose 4 or 5 games every year. We WILL lose at least 2 more games this year, and will not be winning a championship. That is unacceptable.

I will be thrilled if we beat Auburn, but it doesn't change my mind about our coaching situation, or the general condition of the program, any more than the Florida loss did. A season is bigger than a game. This season is a bust. Many of our seasons over the last 10 years have been busts before the end of September. Unacceptable.

We pounded UGA in a similar situation last year, but as far as being an indicator of the program's direction that didn't turn out to mean a damn thing. So no.

If we win..great....but it wont change my mind.Even if we win out and Florida drops two SEC games...i wont change my mind. Not beating Florida and making the SEC championship is like getting sloppy seconds when your best friend got firsts.
