I wasn't there when this was done, although I've heard how it was a failure.
What was it, though?

And from what I've heard, reading the Maxims to the crowd blew up royally.

Sounded bad and the crowd did not like it.

2nd worst, IMO The Maxims were 2nd in my book, most did not know them and mostly did not care, that is a locker room thing, IMO.

I think it was just a stupid rip off of Florida's "Two Bits, Four Bits" stupid cheer.

I think it went, "Two Vols, Four Vols, Smokey's On the Prowl. All for Tennessee, Stand Up and Howl."

And then the crowd would howl. It was bad.

That fake Smokey growl over the loudspeakers was the worst part. OMG, it was horrid.

All it did was provide comedy gold to opposing fans.

Losing to Florida has become the worst tradition to me.

Tennessee Waltz played at the end of the third quarter instead of the end of the game. This was an attempt to have the crowd sing and sway like the gators do when they sing "we are the old boys from floriduh"

Necessity near the end of Fulmer's reign. Everyone but the opponents fans were gone by the end of the third quarter.

They started that one when I was in school. Awful. There was another one they used to do for Raynoch Thompson that was pretty bad also.

It was because by the end of the 3rd quarter the opposing offensive coordinator was so far ahead of Chavis with during game adjustments it was good night ladies.

I think the V-O-L hand sign was a huge flop, especially when people realized it was so similar to the infamous "shocker". If you don't know, google it!

Shock 'em Vols!!!!!

i liked the howl before kickoff, anything to annoy the opposing team fans, the 2 vols 4vols was not good.
