I know interviewing recruits can be tough, but I just listened to Hyams interview Tino Thomas and it was awful. Tino sounded cool, but Hyams sounded like and idiot.

Tito, do you run track, also? What events? How have you done at that? Do you think that your speed is helpful to you in football?

How the heck does a guy like Hyams get away with being so lazy and asking such STOOOOOOOOPID questions?

In Chattanooga, Dr. B and Quake might be as much entertainment as info, but at least they Google their guests and ask somewhat intelligent questions... certainly more entertaining.

Hyams has never really liked the recruiting part of covering college athletics imo. He's always lagged in that area. I think he takes pride in being/sounding right about everything; something that's almost impossible to do when covering recruiting. Credibility and recruiting don't exactly go hand-in-hand, even if his credibility is questionable anyway. JMO.

You have to have some empathy for the guys interviewing some of these kids...their social and speaking skills are cringe worthy at times...

Yeah, I used to love listening to Chattanooga's sports radio. There was nothing better than the latest updates on Montario Foster, local high school wrestling, and Chattanooga dirt track racing legends. :crazy:

OT: Yes, Hyams is an idoit.

I didn't see anything wrong with the questions Hyams was asking. Thomas was giving one answers, and Hyams has air time he has to fill alloted to Thomas. His only option was to give leading, basic questions.

Tino sounded smart when he spoke, he just wasn't engaged with the interview - since he's 18 that's not a suprise.

Hyams was just mad because the kid didn't play tennis. JIMMY HYAMS LOVES TENNIS INTERVIEWS.

Hyams never really liked the reasoning part of being alive and human, either.

The first thing I would suggest would be don't ask closed ended questions. They tend to lead to one word answers.

I can't believe there is such thing as a Hyams defender... Wow!

Somehow the animal is determined to get one of these idiot newspaper writers to actually be good at radio. Problem is that none of them are even good as writers, otherwise they wouldn't be working for the crappy sentinel.

Still, the worst interview ever was Basilio interviewing Jackie Butler. That guy was 3 joints past toast.

Hymmie asks stupid questions to everyone he interviews.
Asked some kid who trained with a pro tennis player"do think that will improve your game?" Really?
Another one asked a new signe," did you like the coaching staff?" No he hated the coaches,school,& city thought he would sign anyway..

I heard it. Twas truly awful. I actually yelled "shut up" at Hyams in the middle of it. It made me embarrassed to be a human.
