Worst season by Josh so far

I watched his demeanor on the sidelines and he seems “off”.

There’s no fire or passion from him.

I do wonder if coaching in the SEC is starting to stress him out a bit.

Then that’s on him and I’m sorry. But Sark is a recovering addict who overcame shaky QB play early in the year and kept his team improving. If this isn’t for Heupel then he can negotiate a buyout. FWIW he’s recruiting like someone who’s still very much into it but seriously he needs a diet and a month on a beach.

Pavia….as much as I dislike his mouth is a player…a freaking magician. He’s done the same to damn near every team they played this year. Nobody has really stopped the guy.

He had about the same passing stats tonight as most the year. His running was far better though. The D should have spied him.

More of this falls on the oline’s inability to block and let the offense work. Gave up on the run game too soon.

Just my recliner coach view of the game.

I thought his offensive playcalling and play design improved this year, though I also was not a fan of the more conservative approach on philosophy.

Defensively, we took a sizeable step backwards. We were not prepared to overcome two injuries to the DB. Tim Banks approach is what frustrated me the most. Soft coverage. Lack of discipline. Not as good in stopping the run.

Need to attack the transfer portal hard and ensure we have more depth instead of not having enough.

This is a team that beat nobody. Every team in the playoffs would whip us by 3 scores minimum. They do not deserve a bowl game for a do nothing season. Just wrap it up and send everyone home at Christmas break. They don't need extra practice days until they change systems.

Middle of the field was open the entire game and we never exploited it. Same as the Oklahoma game.

We never put a spy on Pavia even though he’s not a deep threat passing. Even Vandy homer Jordan Rogers was like “you’d think Tennessee would start to spy Pavia at some point”.

It was blind ignorance.

For the second time, he fell ass backwards into a better QB than the one he wanted here.

We lost 4 games, 3 at home, I feel like two of them were to less talented teams.

There were a lot of bizzare decisions this year...declining a penalty in FG range, odd play calls, etc.

This is a pivotal point for Josh, he's half a decade into his tenure and took a solid step backwards this year.

We'll see this off-season if he's serious about taking the next step forward or setting the cruise control towards regular 8 win seasons.

One assessment that needs to be made- which units are performing up to their talent level?
I’m glad we picked up Joey but he’s not a championship caliber QB by any stretch of the imagination…Nico wasn’t what we hoped for and what little we’ve seen of the two freshmen QBs hasn’t looked promising…we may need to scout Div 2 and find a QB like Kiffin did…

There may be a reason we didn't but I agree.

Our defense raked 4th in the SEC in 2023 and 2nd in 2024…we‘re ranked 14th currently but could drop after the Vandy game stats get rolled in…we’ve got to get some new talent or something because we can’t have another year with this kind of D

There’s something off for sure. He looks so….. checked out half the time. Shows so little emotion and doesn’t even argue over calls much of the time.

He was much different even last season. Much more energetic and fiery.

Amazing to think Milton would have trotted out every game in 2022 but for the injury.

Heupel can't have another year with a D like that. It would be just about time to put the house on the market..
