Worst part about UT Gators game?

Probably the 7 or 8 no calls on obvious PI on Florida. We were already handing them the game, they certainly didn’t need help from the refs. I have no idea what they were doing all night.

The worst part was discovering so early that we have a lousy coach who has no clue how to motivate a football team or instill even the most basic of football fundamentals. But he has that stern look, tough talk postgame stuff down pat. "That's on me". Yeah...whatever...blahblahblah. Oh and h'es "proud of the effort" and he noticed guys "had that look in their eye". Yippee. May as well break out the "Champions of Life" BS. What is downright demoralizing is knowing we have nothing but a series of incredibly embarrassing beatdowns the rest of the year to look forward to. My gawd. Georgia is going to nuke us. The only thing stopping Bama from beating us 100-0 will be Saban feeling sorry for his former DC....and laying off somewhat. Talent? Tell me why Wisconsin...with recruiting classes ranked 35th, 37th, 35th and 35th respectively over the last 4 years can be a national power who can beat ANY team in the country on any given Saturday. We are an OVC level team at every stage...and that INCLUDES coaching.

I was on the sideline that Swain ran down on that td catch. I thought Florida got away with a block in the back on that play.

Their O-line was also holding badly the whole game. And of course, we know their CBs were holding on almost every pass.

But even that didn’t change that they just stomped us.

My daughter , 9, loves to cook. We always let her cook whatever she wants for this game and we all hang.oit, eat and watch the game. She made some awesome salsa. I woke up and she had the tennessee blankets spread across the coach, a stuffed smokey on one side, a stuffed vols cheerleader on the other.
I wrapped up my house work and we were.ready to watch with some good good and a mango wheat blue moon.
Ive been down on the vols for a while, but usually as I think about the games at some point ill at least have a short thought that we have a chance in most games.
Today, I can honestly say, I never thought for one second that Tennessee would win today. Ive never thought that, even against alabama ill usually think, even for a short time, that we may have a chance if this or that. Sad that I never thought we would win today, first time in my 40 years as a vols fan.
We are a really really bad football team.

At least I had some good salsa.
Where does one get a stuffed Vols cheerleader?

The safety. After losing a yard on first down from the 2, to a defensive line that had already proved that they were physically superior to us, we lined up in a power set and tried again, with the same result. It mirrored the unimaginative offensive game plan (similar to what we used to criticize Butch for) which I didn't feel served us very well.
This...the play calling last night was bush league.

I was literally screaming , Why the hell are we running the ball.. again!

Watching the head coach show his ass on the sideline repeatedly was especially concerning.

He wants a mentally tough and smart team he better take a good look in the mirror first.

Because teams like Wisconsin have had a system in place for years on top of years and has recruited to it for years and has stuck to it. Think of the Rick Barnes method for rebuilding the basketball program. He wasn't able to get top guys but the players he got were evaluated to fit a system and it has worked but it wasn't immediate success and many wanted him fired with their reactionary responses.

Also, the Big Ten has several more week teams than the SEC year in and out as well. There is a reason a guy like Bielema had success at Wisconsin but not at Arkansas and it has nothing to do with him not knowing what he's doing.

Last many reasonable minds see that Butch's recruiting was a flop and mind boggling. Recruit a guy like Dobbs but recruit a guy like Dormady that can't run it. We have 0 corners with experience that can play at this level. Playing players like Marcus Tatum as a true freshman and 260 pounds. The lack of speed at all the skill positions. At least Dooley had it at wideout. The below average strength and conditioning program. Constant high number of injuries. Lack of player development. Unprecedented transfers. Player division within the team multiple years in a row. Guys able to do there own thing.

The program was headed toward a bad season whether it was Butch Jones, Coach Pruitt or Nick Saban. We should hope the recovery is much quicker now that the infomercial host left last year.

Edit: Just think of the recruits that should be on this team if CBJ was competent - Higgins, Lawrence, the LB starting for TX A&M Butch didnt offer. Several other hometown guys.

Yeah we’ve seen that Austin Pope play too many times in the past. Only time I can remember where we’ve been on the good end of that type of play was at Texas A&M. It immediately brought back memories of that 6-3 game at Alabama.
Flemming fumbled because someone put the top of theor helmet right into the tip of the ball. No player was holding onto that football their. Pope I'm pretty sire knocked it out of his own hands.

Worst for me was watching the body language pre-game and already knowing what the result would be. And to make it worse, Florida didn't even have the common courtesy to use Astroglide.

It's a tie with multiple things.

What was most discouraging was a Not great Gators team possible maybe they're mediocre looked like any Crimson Tide Champions team, they looked like a freakin Juggernaut and steamrolled the Vols in their own damn stadium in a freakin Coin Flip Game.
This is the damn result I expect when playing as usual in the Saban era a Juggernaut Crimson Tide team, along with vs a great UG Bulldogs team at Georgia, and a likely great Auburn Tigers team that couldn't finish vs the LSU Tigers not vs a unimpressive Gators team that lost 2 consecutive games vs likely decent teams or a possible great UK Wildcats team.

Also the Volunteers in the style of the Chargers found all ways to self destruct including a damn fumble after a great pass that has me flashing back to a other infamous Volunteers fumble.
All the turnovers because any chance the Volunteers had of making this a close game was repeatedly removed with the turnovers including the backbreaker fumble during a kickoff and no sweat for Gators to score a touchdown.

The Volunteers were Santa Clause tonight with 6 damn turnovers.
Also using a freakin Onsides Kick which was utterly unnecessary because this wasn't a Oregon Ducks style team and not Oregon Ducks, the deficit wasn't high, also early because 1st so a utterly unnecessary dumb play to use a onsides kick. That proved to be asinine and awful because Gators easily punted the ball landing on 1 yard line, and a safety happened.

Hate losing and the complaints, but I really tired of low-quality products. Florida executed and we did not. We had our chances (every play plus some extras - on-side, 4 downs) and we did not perform. We can list any list of reason, but none seem to include the Florida did what was needed to counter. Take the on-side, they recovered, but not one person took out the single Florida player as planned. he was left and executed the recover, leading to a short field and score.
