Worst memorable play(s) ever?

Erik Ainge suffers a separated shoulder vs. Notre Dame in the final play of the first half. I remember there being less than a minute left and UT was deep in it's own end of the field. There was nothing to be gained by being aggressive with the play calling.

That loss felt VERY different to me than the one in 2001. We were pretty good in 2007, but we weren't as good as LSU and probably wasn't as good as the Florida team who beat us earlier in the season. I didn't expect to win that game but we fought very hard and came damn close to beating them that day. In 2001 we were clearly the better team but we laid a huge egg in the 2nd half and that loss was completely deflating. In spite of the loss in 2007, I actually felt pretty good about how we played that day.
LSU had their share of talent (as they always have), but the SEC Championship game in 07 was certainly winnable. Especially without those two catastrophic unforced interceptions right there near the end. Could have survived one of them, but both of them together was too much. Turnovers ruin the 2001 Title game as well actually. Turnovers normally ruin most games.

90 blocked fg vs bama. Also had a game ending int in the end zone vs ND that season. Thanks Dad for the quality bonding time

My first couple of years living in AZ I could only fly back for 1 game each season. I chose UF in 2000 and UGA in 01

I have a gift

Agreed.

90 FG fest was a tough one to swallow. Good memories with my uncle though.

Rohan Davey. No play in particular, just still irritates me that we lost that game.
Losing to UK when they DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A QB!!!

Sorry, I did not follow directions of the thread.

Besides Terence Cody block and the LSU overtime shenanigans, I have to say it's the Joe Adams (Arky) punt return. It was absolutely humiliating.

Can't remember the year, but we had the ball inside our own 2-yard line about to score and tie Georgia going into half. Less than 30 seconds left on the clock. Instead we fumbled, Georgia recovered, and ran it back 95+ yards for a TD. Went from what should have been a tie game to a 14 point deficit, then got absolutely reamed in the second half in what ended up being a blowout loss.

2003.

Always and forever it will be watching our game winning FG attempt against Alabama in 1990 get blocked and shoot backwards 30 yards to set them up for a game winning FG.

THIS without a doubt!

I was in school in Bham and the Bammites were silent and scared all week..all of 'em knew we were gonna lay the wood to 'em.

That ENTIRE game, IMO, was the WORST game I've ever seen for a team with so much offensive talent.

We had Carl Pickens and Alvin Harper.... did we throw deep at all? I don't think so.

NO! We kept throwing the ball to that 5'5" JJ McCleskey.....
...and we had Anthony Morgan, he had some good years with the Bears. How many college teams have 3 future NFL receivers? Our game plan was pathetic. We had just beaten Florida 45-3. Johnny and Phil were scared to throw vs Bama.

In terms of bad football, the first "worst play" that comes to mind is the Arkansas punt return from a few years back. One of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen.

Why, in the literal hell, would anybody want to spend a single second trying to bring to mind things that aren't pleasant?

Y'all continue to amaze me.

Yup. Ranked #3 in the nation and bama wasn’t even ranked. I have never seen a ball bounce like that since.

All these mentioned were true heartbreakers. I have one from the game many of us feel started our downward spiral. 2001 SEC Championship, Julian Battle drops a for sure pick 6 after it hits him right between 1 and 4. Most likely would have turned game into a win. Instead LSU drives on to score. The rest is miserable history....
