Losing to Memphis was embarassing. The SEC Championship was 31-20... not that bad. Still embarassing, but nothing compared to losing to Memphis, or Vandy. The Florida losses were humiliating. I would say the Florida losses were worse, IMO. Upsets happen. I'm not making excuses, but they do happen.

I'm in line with the popular opinion that his exit in the middle of the season would be devestating to the program. Honestly? Unless it's Cutcliffes team, which apparently there are people that think that a div-2 coach would be a better HC than Cutcliffe. Who did a pretty good job at Ole Miss. And that's not exactly an easy assignment.

I don't think any game is as poor a reflection of Fulmer's coaching as the '01 Georgia game in Neyland.....That squib kick to midfield with less than a minute left is the dumbest thing I've ever seen.

....the most embarrassing is still Memphis and the most significant is still LSU in the 2001 SECCG.

That '01 LSU team was no pushover. Remember they were ahead of us going into the 4th qtr. They were a good well coached Nick Saban team. The other loss that year was to GA, which some say wasnt Fulmers fault. Didnt Andre Lotte hold the ball, and if he did he let go early.

I think the GA game in '03 was bad. I think all of the bowl games were bad, especially both of the Peach Bowls. The only good season we had recently was in '04, which were 3 losses. If we would have beat ND, that season would have been great. Auburn was just good that year. And we had no experience @ QB that year.

Wouldn't be the first time a coordinator stabbed the HC in the back to get a HC job...Sombody else comes to mind, Hum....now if he would just publicly state that he doesn't give a da#n about what the boosters think it would be really familiar... who was it again? Fulmer yeah thats right.

I have to put the LSU 01 loss at #1. They were a good team, we were better. We got cocky. Remember the white roses? We had Washington, Stallworth, and Witten all NFL players and Witten a pro bowler, on offense. Henderson and Haynesworth anchored the D-line, and there was plenty of talent to go around there too. I think losing that game cost us on the recruiting trail.

Not to mention there was a drunk cajun with a bottle of Jager tucked in his wranglers pointing a purple foam finger in my brother's, my uncle's and my face all game. I was so pissed afterwards I puked in a Wendy's parking lot, and I swear I wasn't drunk. I just knew we had given up a chance to play for the NC. I also knew that we weren't out-talented, we were out coached. That was the beginning of the end for Fulmer.

Sad thing is under Fulmer's leadership, he has 7 of our 22 bowl losses...Majors only lost 4 of his Bowl Games and Battle lost 1...

Going into this year Tennessee was tied with Oklahoma for most Bowl Wins with 24, after this year we will drop into a tie for 6th with Georgia and Texas. Yet again the Vols Keep dropping instead of going up!

No, he needs to go on a statewide good will tour (the Big Orange Caravan) and get drunk at two separate fundraising events and then lobby for a raise and complain about what other coaches are making - after getting pounded by Penn State in a bowl game of course.......maybe even have bypass surgery to boot.

If I remember right thats the game we put out their starting QB and their back up came in and ran all over us! Poor Defensive alignment back then too, imagine that.

We have wasted alot of Talent. Looking back at all the players we have put in the Pro's we sure have wasted alot of talent.

Speaking of the LSU loss....dont forget we knocked the starting QB out...Rohan Davey....and broke the leg of their starting RB and best player....LaBrandon Toefield. I watched Matt Mauck run QB sneaks up the middle and shred Chavis' defense. Sad.

Didn't Charlie Weiss have gastric bypass surgery? And he's as rotund as ever.

Maybe it's just because emotions are running high, but I have to rank this past Saturday as a low point for me. The Tennessee Volunteers I was/am clinging to are nothing but distant memories. I was bitchslapped by mediocrity around 3 pm last Saturday.
