Worst loss in Tennessee history?

1) 2001 loss to LSU in the SEC championship game, costing arguably our most talented team a shot at the national title.

2) 2001 loss to Georgia - the Hobnail Boot drive.

3) 2011 loss to Kentucky.

I remember the Nebraska game.My dad was taping it and he went to my grand dads house to watch it.As soon as he got home he slammed the front door open then pulled the tape out of the VCR and slammed in on the ground and started jumping on it Then yelled Mother fkin Sob.After that he then went and threw it outside. Then came in and Said good night and then went to bed.

I now have a "man crush" on your dad.

Worst and most embarrassing loss is the Kentucky game last year! No way should that bunch of scrubs with a wide receiver at quarterback beat a Tennessee team with Tyler freaking Bray!

Tyler freaking Bray? Who has he ever beaten? Why didn't he put the team on his back and win the Kentucky game?

A "Tennessee team with Tyler freaking Bray" has not proven it can do squat. Its time for everyone to stop overrating Bray. He's got a big arm, but has shown NO leadership ability, NO big play mentality, and NO ability to put his team on his back and win a game UT shouldn't really win...heck, he hasn't shown he can even win a game like Kentucky that he SHOULD win.

Boss, the jury is still out whether NKV has been a UT fan longer than he has been a member of VN.....

1990 Alabama is hands down the worst for me. I get that they made a great play to block the kick, I dont like it but I get it! However, how the ball went that far backwards after the block to set them up for the game winner is beyond me!:furious3: The Notre Dame game that same year was awful too but we avenged that one nicely the next year!

The Memphis Game would have been bad but I don't count it because COBB'S KNEE WAS DOWN!

2005 Alabama Game and 2001 LSU get honorable mention too!

I was having an arguement with my friend about this topic. I said Alabama in 2007 was a worse loss than the Memphis loss in 1997. Dont judge me i think the Vols will win 10 games this year. I am not a Nega-Vol. I just wanna know what the worst loss in Tennessee history is.

UT Chattanooga, 1958

that was a humiliating loss, but the game in 2001 was worse.'

worst losses in gator history are......

1. nebraksa.

2. nothing else is close, but there are 3 or so losses to georgia pre 1990 that cost florida an sec title

In 1980 (HW's freshmen year) we lost a thriller to UGA in Neyland 15-16. That's the year he ran over Bill Bates.

1981 was the 44-0 drubbing in Athens with sophomore running back Herschell Walker. I was there with my pregnant wife and my parents. Long, long walk back to the car with our orange clothes and UGA fans harrassing us the entire way.

Instead of dwelling on our losses I would rather remember Minnesota band playing Rock Top for Bama fans, the LA-Monroe sign declaring their win over Bama or the 06, 07 & 09 GA games.

Agree with many on here, as far as importance the 2001origin SEC title game. Who knows where the program goes with a victory there. A second national champion for Fulmer secures top recruiting classes for several more years. But most embarrassing, without a doubt @ UK last year. I was there to see it in person. It was like a kick to the n**ts.

Most disappointing to me was the 44-3 or whatever drubbing we took in HWalker's freshman year.

KY 2011 is about 20th on my list, if that was your question. I can think of loads worse losses in terms of how I felt afterward.

I guess it was so bad you don't remember it

2000 Fla game still chaps my hide. Every single time I watch CFB Live with Palmer on it on throw him the bird just to get myself through the segment. Don't know what I'd do if Gaffney was on TV....

North Texas State.

The only other loss close to that is the one to Chattanooga that touched off fist fights from Cumberland Avenue to Gay Street around 1960.

My Grandfather and Great-Grandfather had the misfortune of working that game and the aftermath as part of KPD.
