Worst Loss Ever?

Been watching since the very early 80's and I think this was the worst I have seen! We got our butts handed to us by a complete nobody. This Cowboy team is horrible even in their own elements. The most pitiful performance I have ever seen as a Vol fan.

Losing to Wyoming today was pretty bad, but our losses to North Texas St. & Chattanooga were worse.

The rutgers loss was brutal but the 9-6 loss to bama broke my heart. I also remember losing to ND in neyland when we were driving at the end and kelly threw the pick.

Yep, Andy "Throw Off the Back Foot" Kelly. Kelly puts 6 more inches of air under that ball and it's a TD. Alvin Harper was wide open.

Memphis, with Peyton, was worse than this one, hands down.
Drove up to Lexington to see the MSU/KY game that Saturday... cold!!!!!!!!!!! Came back over Jellico Mountain in the snow listening in disbelief to the Memphis game. Abject misery, but not as bad as today. Total defeat.

My grandad (may he RIP) used to always reference the "What's a Rutgers?" game as the worst loss ever, so I will put it 2nd behind today's debacle.

Tiger High '96 - Peyton Manning loses to a team that couldn't line up in the KIL

Alabama '90 - the 9-6 debacle

Dook '82 - SOS schools the Vols for the first time

USC '81 - a friend of mine commented that even including time outs, halftime and when the Vols had the ball, So. Cal moved the ball at an average of 5mph.

N. Texas State '75 - In the rain, in Knoxville

82 Dook was a bowl team winning 8 games led by qb Ben Bennett. Spurrier coached Duke in 88 to a victory against the Vols and 1 year away from winning the ACC title. Those Duke losses were not upsets.

This probably will be billed as the "worst loss ever" when you run the #s.

1. With Peyton, we were on the road.

2. This was at home vs. the worst offensive team in college football.

----

Our QBs are AWFUL. I honestly believe that Dave Clawson is our biggest problem. Our offensive line is bad, our WRs cannot get open, and our QBs are inefficient. Our offense is absolutely terrible.

Any time we lose to the University of New Jersey at Durham it should be an upset.

Chalk up the entire 2008 season as the "worst loss ever".

Apparently, this is only the second time in the history of UT football that the team has lost 7 games in a season. In the history of UT football.

UT has never lost 8 games in a season.

I'll go out on a limb and add "until this year".

2008. Worst loss ever.

Go Vols.
