Worst Gameplan I Have Ever Seen

Our margin of victories will be irrelevant if we win at Kentucky and beat LSU. It won't matter how ugly it is. The Vanderbilt win probably won't matter if we lose to Kentucky, either. Or, LSU.

i see your point, but that is a big IF

With regards to the gameplan, I think Foster needs to run the ball 25-30 times a game when he's averaging 5 yds/carry, instead of 20 times a game. Thats a couple of games of late where that has happened. Hardesty got 2 carries this game. Just not running the ball a lot.

Yeah, there's so much passion for this team. Getting embarrassed by your two biggest rivals really brings the fans. We'll fill up the stadium in Atlanta if we make it.

Give me a break. If we get to the SEC Championship, that place will be LSU crazy. The bowl game will then be begging fans to buy tickets. Bowl committees know it. No one is going to travel far to see this team come out and look like crap one more time.

Dorsey got hurt today against Ole Miss, and their going to have a physical game against Arkansas on Friday

On a lighter note... during the postgame radio broadcast, it was noted that the 15 point 4th quarter deficit is the largest the Vols have ever overcome in Neyland Stadium.

Nice stat. Always good to set a record vs Vandy

Tonights commentating was worse then LF. Didn't think that was possible.

We say the same thing after every PPV it seems. It's unreal how many mistakes those guys were making . . . and it was even worse this week with a weak voiced Vandy guy joining them.

That Vandy guy was getting on my nerves. Although I didn't hear much of what he said over my yelling at the TV

Yeah...that guy really had no business in the booth. While the others may make mistakes, he wouldn't have belonged there regardless of what was coming out of his mouth. Oh Pat Ryan....oh pat....

There was certainly some questionable play-calling in the middle of the game on offense. I don't know what Cutcliffe was doing with that second drive at all. Clearly, IIRC, the team was running the ball well in the first drive, so why take out Foster for the second drive? Seems like yet another case where Cutcliffe was trying to get too cute.

And in the second and third quarters, it seemed pretty clear (to me, at any rate) that Ainge just wasn't as sharp as we're used to seeing. He seemed a bit jittery in the pocket and was throwing the ball away with just the slightest sign of pressure.

Anyway, I'm glad the offense and defense finally got things sorted out in the fourth quarter, but it really seems to me like we could have taken Vandy out of the game by the second quarter with a couple run-heavy drives for scores.

Biggest complaint I had was playing for the FG at the end. I really wanted to see us try and punch it in and force them to get a TD. I guess it worked but I just hate that kind of thinking.

well I am not exactly thrilled about the win but I will take it at this point. I am sure Oklahoma would have been happier with a 1 point win against texas tech than what happend.

The problem with this and many Fulmer teams is that he absolutely doesn't know how to motivate a team. Unless Fulmers job is on the line or we are supposed to get beat, we don't come out motivated. Today, Vandy came out flat and we still refused to jump on them. Playing at home, playing for the SEC East title, playing an in state rival, and playing for your coaches job and national respect seems to not be enough to motivate this team. The sad thing to me about the entire thing is that I thought to myself If we were winning 24-9 in the 4th, I would still be nervous and if we are losing 24-9, I have no faith in a comeback. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see this team squeak out a win in Kentucky and then blow out LSU. If we play like we did against Georgia, LSU or anyone in the country better bring their A-GAME or we run away with it. A win is a win but I'm fed up with our coaching staff's playcalling and inability to motivate anyone.
