Haven't seen this brought up much, but what about the false start on LSU left guard? He rocked back and then started backing up before the snap. At worst retry should have been from 5 and 1/2 yard line? did everybody see the false start or am I seeing things?

A false start penalty would have done them a huge favor though. It would have nullified the fumble and given them time to actually call a play since the clock wouldve stopped until the ready to play signal after they walked off the penalty.

I guess, but you've still probably got a passing situation there and no QB that's proven to be dependable passing into tight coverage. Also, with Les Miles and Gary Crowton calling the plays, who knows what they dial up. Might have even attempted a field goal.

i am pretty sure if you commit a false start with the clock running and have no timeouts there is a ten second run off and the game would have ended

It would have also given us time to figure out there were 13 men on the field. LSU was already on the line and sent in more subs. Half of their line was still moving around when the ball was snapped!

there are a couple or line.en rocking on the play where they fumbled.

How does that work when the defense has to many men on the field? Could you not argue the presence of an orange army intimidated those linemen?

Did anyone else notice the holding on Montori Hughes? The linemen just grabbed his foot and held him.

obviously we had 13 men on the field but there was a bit more to it then that....most of which is based on how stupid les miles is......30 seconds to run a play, spike the ball, do anything and they are running people on and off the field with 10 seconds to go, yes they had players moving, no the official was not standing over the ball, no our players couldnt run off cause they'd have been too late getting off, yes the center threw his helmet, bottom line is you rewarded a team for being patheticly stupid... id rather as officials explain to lsu how its there own damn fault im not calling a pentalty when you took 30 seconds to run a play and created the confusion which led to the pentalty then explaining to UT that we're gonna overlook everything else that happened the last 10 seconds but you had to many people on the field

You know, I finally saw the pass interference call on the DD show today. It looked WEAK to me. WEAK. That one hurt a lot too.

Yup, I saw that. Oh well. What can we do now?

Last year, a number of SEC coaches commented about calls which were clearly bad, and the failure of the reviewers in the booth to do their jobs. So Slive put the coaches under a gag order. Then he claimed that he was going to take measures to insure that the SEC had the best officiating in the country...after the season was over. This was at a time when a lot of people were stating their belief flat out, that Slive and SEC officials were crooked. Well, I'm not saying that Commissioner Slive is a crook. But he has done such a poor job dealing with this important problem that many fans have no confidence in his integrity or the integrity of our conference officials. So I think that fans should demand his resignation. My understanding(possibly wrong) is that Slive serves at the pleasure of the SEC university presidents. Tennessee doesn't even have one. Perhaps a petition should be started.
