Worst Bray quote from post-game

Which score? Most left after we went down 37-20 from what I could tell. That's when I quit watching. Women always think that a game is still in reach when it is not. My wife asked me why I turned off the TV then.

To me it doesn't matter which score. If the teams still on the feild, then I'm still in the bleachers. You got a good woman there also. I've learned more often than not, their right.

He is the problem

I agree a little. If Dooley was a true coach he should have benched Bray for acting like an idiot with all the trouble he has gotten into. Other than that the coaches have done nothing to get the players mind away from last year and move forward.

If there were great/good coaches on UT's staff they wouldn't be talking about last year and wouldn't have fallen apart.

I see way too much crap being slung on Bray... He can't do it all on his own.

He can't do anything correct when he gets rattled. Great arm - no patience.

I would start him but sit his arse the first time he showed his shatty attitude.

He will never make a good QB until he learns how to deal with adversity. That is part of the game.

At times Bray was making NFL type passes into tight windows. Go back and watch. College FB is such a game of momentum. We had a 8 or 9 min 70 yd drive that ended in a TD. The announcers said with all the penalties and TV timeouts the Gator D had been on the field for 30+ min. OUr D needs to respond by coming out shutting their azz down and putting the ball back in our Os hands to score again. What do they do instead, let the Gators answer with a 7 min plus drive that end the half 14-13. Granted we stopped the TD but seriously? The O comes out of the half and drives again to make it 20-13. How does the D respond? You guessed it 80 yds one play tie game. Then we respond by dropping passes, running 8 yd TE route on 3-10 and so forth. I find it incredulous all the blame Bray and the O are getting. 555 yds God knows how many on the ground and continually ripped on the edges all night while Maggitt and Smith kept on crashing the middle? Un F*in believable IMO.

Worst quote I thought he said in the post game video I watched was that he
got sacked 2 times. OLine may not have played lights out all the time but they
held their own against 2 1st rounders in Easley and Floyd in obvious passing downs.

Thought Bray had an off game game - he had a chance to show some leadership
and say he had an off game - which all he had to say was - I was off tonight a
little and he made it sound like the protection was terrible. Very Disappointing.

Also - Bray better hope the OLine still wants to protect for him now and does not
Ole' the Akron defensive line because apparently they owe him a couple sacks.

Amazing friday yall were praising dooley and company. One loss and yall have the team in intensive care barley breathing.

I believe many have looked to this Florida game as a defining moment for this team and especially Dooley. After viewing what happen in the second half it's obvious where this program is at. Three games into a new season and they quit. Not good and the confidence many fans have in Dooley left out of the stadium early as well.

Finally someone who actually sees it right, Sunseri made so many wrong calls on situation downs and Florida took advantage of it. You cant give up the edges and then of all things take poor angles and stop speed to the outside. Bray responded and the d-fence was out of position or in the wrong formation all of second half, the times we did stop them was talent and that alone.

Couldn't agree more. That was the loudest I have heard Neyland in years. The upper deck was literally shaking. The fans gave their ALL for Tennessee. The fans have every right to be upset.

Absolutely true. Even my blue-haired section was up and rowdy. And that is...well...pretty much NEVER the case.

All this beating up on Bray, but he's not all of the problem! Let's talk defense. They're the ones that have to stop the other team from scoring! You can't let a team get a first down on every play. Eventually they wind up in the end zone! I saw MANY attempted tackles that the players looked like they were afraid of getting hurt. You can't dive and grab a guy's ankle with one hand while breaking your fall with the other hand...GRAB that joker with BOTH hands!!! And when you DO get a hold of someone, DON'T let go!!! Defense was WAY too soft! Hit somebody like you're playing football or something! Where's Fulmer when you need him??? At least with Fulmer, the other teams felt like they played TN after the game, not some high school team! They knew TN came to town!!!

Bray was scared. You could see it in his eyes all night long.

but he wasn't the problem at all in this game. Our defense was the big problem--it was bad--followed maybe by play-calling. You give up 35 or whatever it was to team like florida, with a good defense...put it in the L column. We need some better players on defense.

I'm new here on VN but I figured now is as good of time as any to make my first post.

I watched the game from Neyland (sec Y8), recorded it at home, and since then watched it 3 more times. Each time I came to the same basic conclusion so I will just throw them out there.

1) Bray IS NOT the full problem here, 8 of his incompletions were VERY catchable and if half of them would have been caught he would have been about 60% on the day and he wouldnt of been NEARLY as frustrated and would have gave our defense which isn't very deep more rest. JH & CP had very mediocre games, it happens.. they will get better, mature, and the mediocre play will happen less and less.

2) Our running game actually played better than expected and better than they have the past 2 years. It isn't their fault Chaney abandoned it as soon as we got down.

3) Our SECONDARY is the MAIN reason for our loss, they simply didnt stay at home one the wildcat and end arounds, got out of position and took horrible angles. It was ugly. Our Dline, even though they couldnt get Driskell down, did put pressure on him but our secondary couldnt make plays on the ball and couldnt keep up with their man.

Sidenote: Our team is VERY capable of winning 8-10 games this year still, its one loss, the season isn't over. Florida could win the East! I think they are better than South Carolina but Georgia, we will see. I do see a dramatic improvement over last year. I just hope our fans will stay behind the team. Either way, I will be a VFL! Go Vols! (Sorry for the length of this post, just thought I'd give my full opinion.)

Wow. Literally is all I can say to some of what people say or believe after we win or lose.

25 minutes of bad football. That's the bottom line. We lost and lost badly but that game is over. We have another game Saturday that we should win no problem. Then we will hopefully see our team respond in a very good way and just play hard as he!! to make up for the 25 minutes of ugly we had to see.

Like alot of people I just knew that this was the game that was going to show everything was getting back to good. I was wrong but every week I will either be at the game or smoking some pork drinking tea and waiting for my team to take the field and put up some points. We took a hit and a big one but I only get to cheer for my team for 9 or 10 more games this year then 9 months of message board chatter to drive me crazy, 11 games if something amazing happens. I will not let this game rob me of that. Vols!
