I dunno, the question is not fair.

Any where and every where you go, you are going to run into the knuckleheads.

I grew up in Lexington, and the majority of Vol games I have attended have been in Commonwealth Stadium. I have seen some really nasty Vol fans.

I worked at Ohio State and witnessed some of their fans doing stupid stuff, but not all Ohio State fans are bad.

To lump every one into a whole is unfair.

Such as calling LSU fans nasty. When I was in college I worked security for the UK football games. I was patrolling the parking lots and the LSU tailgaiters stopped me and fed me throughout the day.

I dunno, I guess I just find these types of questions silly.

True, the only stadium i have visited where most of their fans were jackasses would have to be when i went to the the Georgia Southern/App state game a few years ago, those inbred hippies are jackasses

I dunno, there are too many things to take in account on who and why fans are bad.

One of my best friends is a huge Indiana fan. So we used to go to a couple a games a year.

Each time was different and I do not know if who they played had any thing to do with it.

As an example, we went to a game in Indy between IU and Penn St. This is the Wally Richardson days people.

We sat in the Penn State section about 8 rows up from the endzone. Needless to say I always had my orange on and every time the camera would pan over or the UT score would come up I would stand up and turn around to the crowd and wave my arms and basically be myself (silly).

Naturally things were said to me but I don't think Penn State fans are terrrible.

On the other side, I am sure most of them probably thought what a stupid inbred hick Tennessee fan.

Best fans SC by far. They stick with their coaches and team through thick and thin.

Worst fans UT. Whine when winning or loosing. Whine about CPF, players and some about their own mothers !!

Yeah, South Carolina fans really stuck behind Sparky Woods, Brad Scott, and Eddie Fogler.

If we didn't whine about the results UT was putting on the field lately, we wouldn't be good fans at all.

The only game I've been to was this past UT @ Bama. Didn't have much trouble physically, but verbally is a whole different story. While I was walking up & down Uni. Blvd. numerous people were yelling "f*** tennessee", f*** you", if I ran into a group they started singing their version of Rocky Top, most of them just flipped me off & during all of this I just kept my mouth shut & walked on....after all they had me out numbered 90,000 to 1.

I'd have to go to some other games to judge so I can't say Bammer's are the worst with it being my only experience.

Should have busted out the UT version of Sweet Home Alabama

The best is probably Vandy.

From the stories I've heard its between Florida, and LSU for the worst.

LSU fans when they came to Knoxville were unbearable.

From my experience, many LSU fans aren't as unbearable as they are drunk and stupid.

Uga in Athens is the worst I've experienced. In fact, thats why I hate Uga more then any other school.

Best? Of my personal experiences, I'd say Bama. I was treated very well by them on my only trip to T-town...but that was pre-wiretap, so I could see it being different now.

SC has some extremely loyal fans. When you sell out all the home games while losing for 2 years in a row, you have some loyal fans. And they've put up with a lot of junk. I live in SC and I'll take SC fans over Clemson fans anytime. They're unreasonable and now seem content with mediocrity. I really hope TN never gets there.

Also, I take note that the best fans are from the worst programs (Vandy, KY, SC) and the worst fans are from the best programs (FL, Bama, LSU, GA). Why is that? I guess the worst program's fans know humility and really appreciate a big, unexpected win. They're so nice because they know that, chances are, they're gonna lose so you can't really taunt or talk smack. The best program's fans expect a win every time. When they don't get the win they can't believe it and it brings out the bad side.

Teams at the Homes the way I see it.

FL the Worst at the Swamp. Can get pissed on bottles thrown from the upper levels. Car bashed.

GA enough said. Few yrs ago many when GA won at UT several GA Fans worried about us. I told them that they had no fears here. Realize after attending several games at Athens how UT Fans were treated. Pretty Sad

Auburn of old days were awful. Fire Hose days and Riots.

LSU want you to believe that they are not that bad but actually pretty humble. Have gotten worst since Miles arrived

SC Can get bad but there is more frustration than anything else.

Alabama fans can be ignorant. Mere stupidity and immaturity because their program has fallen so far from grace

Vandy fans are wanna be's and obnoxious.

Miss State Fans just do not get it. Except the Cow Bells. Face it they are back to the 60s.

Ark Fans always feel cheated for some reasons. Like the fair hair step child

Miss Fans are OK Wanna be category. Police are atrocious on Out of State Drivers.

KY fans have been the best.

TN Fans are the Best we do not take it out on others realize our problems are our problems. I have never seen an opposing fan mistreated at Neyland Stadium because their team won.

I say the Best is Arkansas fans. I lived out there for a while and I never had crossed words with any of them, and that includes game time.

The Worst is Ole Miss fans IMO. They can get NASTY down in oxford.

worst-UF been to Gville 3 times for games and when i went in 2005, i saw gator fans pissing in cups and throwing it at the UT section. unbelievable.
Best-in my own experience i would probably have to say Auburn. went to a game there a couple years ago and everyone i talked to offered me food and welcomed me to their town. very good experience, except for the outcome of the game.

2 years? While I agree with the loyal fans assesment, the losing has been going on for decades.... :)

LOL I bet that is a rare sight indead. I have always wanted to watch the Dawgs play in the Big House.

Many years ago - seventies, I think, or maybe even the late sixties? - UGA played in the Big House and won. Sports Illustrated had a nice story on the game. I think the score was something like 15-7. The SI spread was pretty neat. Lots of pictures. One showed Michigan students in the stands whooping it up while they tore up a rebel flag. That one was obviously taken before the final whistle.

In my trips around the South, the only place I've had a problem is in Alabama. My freshman year at UT me and some friends went to the game down there and after the UT victory we were walking out of the stadium and were told by an Alabama fan "I hope you get into a wreck on the way home and die!!"

Best- Ole Miss...they sure know how to party with class down there...high heels, sterling silver serving platters for their burgers, candlelabras, etc. Though I would take flipflops, beerpong, and orange solo cups anyday, given the choice.

Worst that I have experienced- Auburn...I was pushed in the stands by a AU girl...though I was standing in the student section with a Power T on my face and screaming Rocky Top (Even though we were losing).

Does anyone remember two years ago when we played LSU on a Tuesday night (right after Katrina) and their fans busted out a window on the player's bus? I wasn't there, but I heard all about it in class the next day.

I was at Bama a few weekends ago and didn't have one problem. Even hung out in some bars after the game. Everyone was cool. Had a few students getting drunk &yelling but it wasn't directed at me.

Hate UGA fans. Had a guy BARK at me going into the grocery store with my 9 year old son on game day (and it was 200 miles from Athens). He was about 55 or 60. Major loser.

georgia is the worst i've ever experienced. even in defeat, their behavior is bad. after the usc game here in athens as i was walking to my car, some drunk redneck georgia fans were asking a group of 50-60 y/o people how it felt to know that when they wake up in the morning they 'still suck c@-k'.

an extreme amount of uga fans stink of an "i'm better than you" attitude even when they get their arse handed to them. they make fun of gators wearing jean shorts (who gives a crap?), hillbillies of tennessee, and the nerds of georgia tech and vandy and act like they're something better than they are.

further, i've watched their cheerleaders (male and female) spit on ut's field even after getting spanked. at sanford and son stadium, when you buy a bottled water, they take the screw-off lid off before the vendor gives it to you because uga knows how their fans like to throw plastic bottles. even the majority of uga fans that i know and consider to be something along the lines of a "friend" all of the sudden act like jerks when their team wins. now, since they got lucky and beat florida, they think they're automatically entitled to go to the seccg.
