This, I guess, comes under the heading of '101 Ways to illustrate how bad is Tennessee football under Derek Dooley.'

Prior to the just-fired Joker Phillips, Kentucky had 4 football coaches since 1990: Bill Curry, Hal Mumme, Guy Morriss, & Rich Brooks. What do those gentlemen all have in common? Every one of them compiled a better W-L record in SEC games than has Derek Dooley while at Tennessee.

During the time period in question, Kentucky has been at or near the bottom in the SEC; we wonder why they even try. But under Dooley, the Tennessee Volunteers have sunk to Kentucky-like levels of football ineptitude and futility.

So do not equate UT with Vandy, which has a 35% SEC W-L record in the last 1 1/2 years (compared to Dooley's 19% SEC W-L record in 2 1/2 yrs). To liken us to the Commodores is an insult to Vandy. Instead, Tennessee is keeping company with the worst of the worst in our conference: Kentucky.

Nope, we were already at that level when Dooley came.

But thanks for playing!

You can twist numbers and make them sing what every you want. 1.5 years what if you take 1.68989 years plus the absolute value of the dividend replaced with a modifier times x times the speed of sound?

He's probably gone even if the VOLS win out. All the talk is starting to affect recruiting. It is a shame he decided to change defensive philosophy this year. They do have a very potent offense, but the defense has not benefited from the hurry up style and they already can't get off the field on 3rd.

what sad is that UK threw only 6 passes last year with a WR playing QB and they beat the vols if dooley can put a game plan together to beat a soft UK teaM why does everyone think that dooley will beat UF , USC, UGA,MISS STATE , bama its just amazing that hes still our coach..... i bet I and the othe 10,000 vol nation posters could all go and coach UT to an 0 and 16 sec record and would do it for a hell of alot cheaper than 5 million just a shame!

You can twist numbers anyway you want it, but facts you cannot change. Fact: Dooley's record in the SEC will either be the worst scenario: 1 win over Ole Miss, 1 win over Ky, 2 wins over Vandy in 3 years or best case scenario: 1 win over Ole Miss, 2 wins over Ky, 3 wins over Vandy and 1 win over Missouri. Is anybody impressed by those numbers either way? We are Tennessee and right now this is who we are......

So Kiffin didn't beat South Carolina, Georgia, and Kentucky before Dooley became head coach?

OK...I'm just saying....but thanks for playing!

we are not at the Kentucky level, nor are we at the Vandy level...Yes they may have more SEC wins in the past 1 1/2 years, but they have not beat one SEC team with a winning record. Dooley would also have more wins if he had their schedule.

Good grief, since 2010, Vandy has beaten Ole Miss twice, Kentucky twice, Missouri once and Auburn once (Mizzou and Auburn this year). Let's not act like they are beating the Alabama's, Florida's, South Carolina's, etc....

Wrong.

When Dooley came:

We did NOT have one of the best offensive lines in the friggin nation.

We did NOT have one of the best passing attacks in the friggin nation.

We did NOT have even the decent run game we have now.

We did NOT have decent depth. On EITHER side of the ball.

etc etc and so on

Complain about the record all you want, but to say the program has REGRESSED under Dooley is idiocy.

But like I said, thanks for playing!

When was the last time 4 of Kentucky's 5 losses were to teams ranked in the top 8? Not a valid comparison.

You spout a lot of idiotic garbage. UT has regressed. Having a good offense does not make you a good coach. It does not make you qualified to coach at UT.

You can't give Dooley credit for the offense and not give him blame for the defense.

Dooley is horrible. Bray chokes against good teams in big games.

Thanks for playing, poorly.

YOU spout a lot of idiotic garbage.

UT has regressed.

UT has not regressed.

Having a good offense does not make you a good coach.

We weren't talking about whether he's a 'good coach', we were talking about whether the program's regressed.

Try to keep up, sparky.

You can't give Dooley credit for the offense and not give him blame for the defense.

I give him credit and blame. Which again, doesn't enter into it. we were talking about whether the program's regressed.

Focus, Dorothy.

A head coach at Tennessee had not lost to UK in how many years before Dooley got here? Yeah, my point exactly. Regressed is pretty obvious.

Not their back up QB or their 3rd string guy. A WR standing in at QB beat a Dooley coached team. GTFO!
