It's hard to have a solid opinion on the decision to pull Worley until we see who the starter is this next week. Which....that being said, I would be pretty shocked to see Simms remain "the guy" against SC after seeing Worley entered late into the game like that.

I definitely think everyone has a right to be upset if Simms remains the starter and it turns out that Worley was only in for those few select plays. But if Worley is tagged as the starter from here on out (which at the moment seems likely) you just have to hope for the best and have faith that Dooley is making the right decision. That's really all anyone can do about it.

I thought (though I might has misread it) that the comment I was quoting had said that even if the team was doing poorly, starting Worley would mean that people would still show up in their seats (rather than leave) out of curiosity to see how the kid can play

The team's body language once anything goes wrong shows a lack of belief in Simms and lowered morale. He may not be in danger of losing the team, but there were quite a few players who seem to be giving up easier and easier with nothing to rally around.

I meant 0-5 over our last 5 games as referring to starting at UGA all the way through the likely USCe and arkansas loss

that said, i'd gladly come back to this thread and tell you we were right if we beat Arkansas or South Carolina (sorry, personal policy is not to give out any personal info over the internet)

Who knows who we might have recruited at QB in the next three years? Who knows whether Worley might be able to RS next year? Who knows who will even be coaching in 2014? Who knows what the situation might be?

There's a team full of guys right now who have half a season left to play, who need to get better for next year, and who are in danger of checking out on the rest of the season. That doesn't help us for next year. Burning Workey's redshirt sucks but Simms has been so awful that there's not really a choice. You have to give your team a chance to win.

I am pissed about losing the redshirt too, but this post is 100% correct.

I'd happily trade experienced QB play in 2014 for losing a couple more games this season. I'll never understand such a stupid, shortsighted move by Dooley. Normally he is fairly levelheaded, but I guess Simms horrible play flustered him to the point that he was willing to sacrifice an entire season on down the road. Whatever.

***In Dooley's defense, Simms was AWFUL tonight, but he still should have kept his wits and put Nance in.
