WWW and Calipari make Butler look like a sunday school teacher.

I can't help but think of the irony in Calipari at Memphis and recent issues at Tennessee with Butler and BB.

I won'tcompare BB to D. Rose and his shenanigans...going to Detroit to take an SAT when he could have taken the tests 100's of times in his hometown (maybe you all have heard of this place...CHICAGO). Geez!

But seriously, my son and son in law told me about World Wide Wesley over a year ago and the story is unreal.

Sorry I don't have the sight, but Google World Wide Wesley and look for GQ article " The most powerful man in sports."

See if WWW ain't wearing Kentucky Blue in his next picture.

Where is the NCAA on this character?

My mistake, but you can find it under a couple of monikers, World Wide West, World Wide Wes, World Wide Wesley etc.

Just thought it might be interesting with all that is going on with Butler and BB.

Yeah, I read that GQ article a year or so ago. The guy is shady at best, but he somehow has kept himself out of trouble.

I read the GQ article awhile back all it did was mention allegations against WWW. No one will go on record against him, whats the NCAA to do. They do not have subpoena power.

WWW has more juice than Butler.
WWW does not want his name out there, butler does.

I agree. I think Butler isn't nearly as well connected as WWW either. You don't see Butler hanging out with NFL stars while you see WWW down on the floor with Lebron James after a game.

I don't really blame these phenom-type high school kids for being taken in by such well connected big shots, who offer them a taste of things to come when they make it to the big time. I do not buy that its a character issue for the 17 year olds, especially those from very humble backgrounds and who might not have the same support structure looking out for them that others have.

And, when you think about it, the reason the NCAA or anyone else looks down upon it is that it runs the risk of violating their rules on how to recruit and develop players and talent. The disconnect is that the NCAA seems to think that these kids ought to show up on the doorstep of wherever they go pure as the driven snow.

As long as such big money circulates around the talent like this, how long are we going to fool ourselves that someone isn't going to come along and figure out a way to let the kid grab a piece of it a mite early?

Its such a total sham, it really is.

Yep, these are the biggest differences between the two. :good!:

World Wide West? I loved that movie!

WWW and Butler don't belong in the same sentence....ever. One is a behind the scenes millionaire who has ppl guessing to what he even does, the other is a failed phone salesmen trying to make a few dollars off the success of some hs kids.

Not to mention it doesn't take a degree in rocket science to know if this topic belongs in a Tennessee football forum or an Around the NCAA forum.
