DK's are fun and the first few quests are AWESOME!! However, I hate how every crappy player in the world now has a DK. I'm 73 now, so when I hit 80 on khadgar, ill start one on lethon.

If I were going to play an mmorpg again it would be AoC. It had a really bad start but a lot is fixed I heard. Graphics were simply beautiful - and they just added dx10 and my jaw dropped when looking at the sunbeam effects and the fog. Not to mention its hardcore. Main problem is population and end game.

Eventually, there's going to be something to come out at blast WoW off its pedestal. And, sadly, I'll probably get drug back in to the soul-crushing awesomeness of MMORPG's.

I would play that Star Wars one in development - but - it seems to be very WoW like and will mainly consist of Jedi running around. Need a good sci-fi or unusual one.

I'd like to see a well executed GTA-like one...

Only problem with playing anything newer is my computer prolly wont. During peak hours as is its like rolling dice to enter a instance without freezing.

I can't get into any other MMORPG's. I've tried a few, and simply don't like them. That may be because my first alternative was Vanguard, which was horrible. I hear GuildWars is fun. IMO Blizz needs to bring on World of Starcraft after the newest RTS style Starcraft II.

BTW 1312, I'm getting closer to making that dk on lethon. My druid hit 73 last night. I had to take the weekend off because I decided to come to Knoxville and I don't really like to play on my laptop. I should roll the dk within the next 2 weeks at the latest.

I feel bad for those whose first mmorpg was WoW. Its all they know - and thus even harder to break the addiction.

Yeah, i would definitely play some star wars mmo's. I hear they are doing alot to add a individualized story to the game (somthing that WOW really lacks). The good thing about the timing of the game is that it's a few thousand years before the clone wars, so there will be (and should be) a bunch of jedi and sith running around. They also must then have a bunch of bounty hunters and other classes that have familiarity with jedi and sith and know how to defeat them.

I'm just not a big fan of the KOTOR time period. I love the clone wars and rebellion.

Yeah, I agree, but the clone wars and rebellion time wouldn't allow for a bunch of jedi and sith running around. I'd bet that 98% of people want either a jedi or sith character.

So it's maintenance day. I hate Tuesday. I did find an alternative though. There's a podcsst called "The Instance" that's all WoW talk. It's pretty good.

LOL, hating maintenance = you have taken the bait and are now in for the long hall. Get to 50 yet?

Yeah - I was fine with SWG before everyone knew how to unlock jedis - but even when they figured it out it still won't be as bad as TOR will be I'm sure. I'm sure SW:TOR will have 90% jedi/sith running around and 10% of the other classes which won't be appealing to me. Plus they won't have pure entertainer/trainer/politician classes. The crafting/housing/cantina stuff was some of the best parts of that game.

Lulz. I took the bait about a month after the game came out in 2003. My mage is 80 and my Druid is going to hit 75 within the hour.

I never got into SWG, but I had a friend who did. He did the SUPER hard quest to become a jedi where you had to wonder around some desert, and was less than excited when they made it more of a simple choice to become a jedi.

Star Wars is a hard topic to have an MMORPG in. It would be huge, because of the following that SW has, but it's hard to make it balanced. Everyone does want to be jedi/sith, but no one wants a game full of jedi/sith haha. It's just hard to make it fun for everyone.

The thing I'm most looking forward to from SW:TOR is the storyline. The biggest problem I have with WoW is that I find myself only playing to get to the next level. I know there is a story line, but it's not very prevalent in the game. I usually just do the quests to level, and then I start trying to get to the next level, and the next, and the next, etc. It just gets boring sometimes, because there's no payoff.
