Barnett, Dobbs, Kamara, Malone, Kelly,...

You were kidding, right?

PS- if you think the kids only care about the "millions"... you're deluded.

So, what your trying to say is Gillespie put Kamara and Kelly in the league.

Zack Azzanni put Malone and a couple of other receivers in the league.

Dobbs put himself in the league.
Who was his QB coach??

I understand that bj was the coach but none of these guys would say he developed them for the NFL.

Cade mayes went to the puppies because of an established system that kirby has and bj never had. Mayes also wanted to be developed by a real o line coach that could prepare him for the NFL.

Deluted?? You are delusional if you think a kid from Ga or Cali, comes to Tennessee just because they love UT or the song rocky top.

I tried to watch Carvin particularly in this last game. He and Ryan Johnson didn't seem to make as many mistakes. In the two previous games you could see confusion where they just whiffed. There were occasions where they got whipped too which maybe we have to live with at this point. But you can usually tell the difference and missed assignments are much easier to fix at this point.

I will agree with you here...

Neither are good but I will take getting beat over a whiff any day of the week.

Heck, the d line guy would at least be slowed down and could at atleast trip over the lineman but not on a whiff...

Let's beat Florida!

He was the coach. I was probably Jones' most consistent critic here... but he was their coach. Your point was that kids couldn't get noticed and drafted while Jones was coach... which is not true.

Do you have a quote from Mayes to that effect? I'm not sure when or why things went sour with Mayes but it didn't have anything to do with the NFL.

There are lots of reasons a player is sold on a particular school. Most have little to nothing to do with the NFL or getting rich. But if you have some sort of proof of what you're saying... I'm waiting.

All want to play for winners. Most now want an education because they know that there are no NFL guarantees. Most want the opportunity to become the best player they can be with or without the NFL. Most people are better than you apparently think they are.

My point had nothing to do with getting noticed but preparing for NFL. You are correct, bj stayed out of the camera long enough to allow some kids to get drafted but didn't prepare them. Ask Coach Gillespie.

Do you have a quote from Mayes to that effect? I'm not sure when or why things went sour with Mayes but it didn't have anything to do with the NFL.

Of course, I don't have an quote from mayes but I am assuming you don't either "I'm not sure when or why things went sour with Mayes." I am pretty sure we are both shooting in the dark but I am attempting to use logic to explain a bad situation.

Please share your mayes quote or any logical reasons for "it didn't have anything to the NFL". Do not include IDK, again.

If you played or follow sports it's common knowledge kids wanna go pro. My proof is common knowledge, combined with player interviews and statements.

Are there more than one reason for a guy to pick a certain school? I hope so but the guiding light more often than not is preparation for the NFL. Especially, for big time recruits. Winning is cool but just a byproduct of everyone trying to prove they can play at the next level. Why do you think they want to 'become the best player they can be"?

How often have you heard "that was a great defense, they had 10guys play on Sunday"?

I don't look down on kids for wanting NFL money or think its bad. I am American and belive in capitalism and working for money is not a bad thing. "A rising tide brings up all ships.' In 3 years I hope JJ Peterson and frinds are all first round picks, that usually means success for the Vols.
