Word on Hurd??

Lower extremity injury was reported as HUA. His head has since been removed from his lower extremity. Doc says he's been permanently cured.

I went full Spurrier mode and blindly threw my visor across the living room and almost broke a vase when he pulled that crap. Nothing drives me crazier than when our guys hot dog it.

You're reputation is well known. With that being said, it it makes it a little hard to believe that you're close enough to find out that was he benched, but not told who he had the issue with.

I don't ask questions. I listen to what I'm told... I don't talk with coaches. they never tell..

Usually you have good information but Hurds uncle has said he was a little shook up after hit that needed grass pulled out of face mask. Travis Stephens said the same. Think they might have the more accurate info here

I don't know if it was his mouth or fumble but he must have pissed coach of real bad for him to be on the bench when we had the ball with 2 minutes to go 1 first down would have put the game away so he had to do something, the bad thing about it he was running the ball real hard and getting yards in the first quarter he only rushed the ball 10 times.

Were Hurd's feeling's hurt, if so, how long until his feeling's have recovered from Butch's wrath?

Is getting your ass chewed by the coach a "lower extremity injury?"

Reportedly Hurd "mouthed off" with the UT coach and was benched for the rest of the game. It was not an injury. I believe that I am correct that he did not make another play after the "mouth incident". The "show off" actions of Hurd nearly cost us the game. Nick Saban makes his backs tuck the ball in and after crossing the goal line hand it to an official.

In that case....good for Butch!!! :good!:

Go back and look at the replay of the game where Hurd lost the ball near the goal line in a "hot dog" action. Butch Jones grabbed him immediately as he came off the field and it certainly looks like Jones literally chewed his but out. Think I am correct that Hurd never returned to the game. It also appears that Hurd was "mouthing" back at Jones too.

Jalen scored a TD after that. that was his last offensive action for the day

You would be wrong. He scored his touch down after that and was kept out after the touchdown which if you watch the replay he collided with a linebacker head to head before going into his route. I do talk to the coach but haven't since before season so I don't know

LWS sorry to change the subject but do you have any info on JRM and Kirkland? JRM sounds like a season ending deal.

We would be most fortunate if JRM can return. Sounds unlikely but still pursuing options.

Kirkland may try to go for Alabama. He is attempting to make some cuts this week to see how it reacts.

He caught a touchdown after that happened, so he clearly returned to the game. After that, however, I don't believe he did return, and did not appear to have an injury--though that was the reason given after the game (a seemingly intentionally vague reason, at that). Which lends credence to the idea that he was benched for something that happened after the TD.

Jalen's uncle was in another thread here after the game saying he got his bell rung, bad headache, vision problems etc and was held out as a precaution. So someone's not telling the truth.

Sounds to me like he should have been examined for a concussion then, and was not. And if that's the case, would we be in trouble for not following protocol?

But here's the deal. Looks like he is full speed and will play Saturday.

I could GAS what happened Saturday or why he rode the bench. We won.

It doesn't really matter. Either way, he is back on board today at 100%. Things happen in the heat of battle. We are all Vols, so let's move forward to gig some Aggies.

Maybe they want the Aggies to think he may be not going to play sat, to throw them off. Its happened like that more than people know.

He got nicked up toward the end of the game. He is fine and will be ready to rot A&Ms front 7 come Saturday.

I could be wrong but LWS has always had good info. This isn't an ecred situation. He knows people all around the program so I'm sure this info wasn't too hard to find out. The fact they didn't take his helmet or give him any protocol tests on the sideline nor were they stretching him out is a very clear indicator that he was being punished. He probably was chewed out over the fumble and when he scored he went to the sideline and tried to stick it back in the coaches face which blew up in his face.
