Word on Hurd??

He's not showboating, he just didn't tuck it and the defender blindsided him. The whole play Hurd was looking at the ball and the defender in front of him. Only mistake he made was not being aware of the guy behind him.

I never thought he was showboating. I thought he was slowing up because it seemed he was already in the end zone and no one was near. Just a heat of the moment error. I don't get why some are trying to bash him, he plays with tons of passion 99.9% of the time. If there was words it was just from frustration (everyone wants to win badly) but it sounds like maybe there were never words after all. Either way we need him and he's a great leader for us.

I have heard that from a few ex players but you never know. Unfortunately, there are a lot of me first players these days. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree in my experiences.

He may not have been "showboating" but he sure as heck wasn't playing very smart. You don't completely ignore the entire back side of the field in a game when you are down on the road. Maybe if you are up by 4 touchdowns you can take a play off here or there but not in that situation.

agreed he didn't do anything to showboat, all he did was slow down and relax a little bit while looking at that defender.

He just didn't see the guy on his blind side.

No. Hurd returned the next offensive series right before the half and then caught the td pass from Dobbs during the first possession of the second half to make the score 17-14.

He saved his own ass two possessions later when he caught the td pass IMO. We also had the lead later before our dbs misplayed the late Georgia td pass. I think maybe Foreman and Abernathy should chip in.

Not quite sure what your angle is for saying who the hell knows and then offering some conspiracy theory that you can't possibly prove. And go back and watch that play again. That wasn't show boating. Slowing up at the goal line when you don't think anyone is near you/could possibly tackle you before you score is not showboating. Error in judgment? Sure. Showboating? Absolutely not.
